Some changes in the rankings at the Rabo vo2 max test..

Lars Boom now absolute record holder with 512W
And some new names appear on the w/kg ranking. Rohan Denis, Marc Goos and Wilco Kelderman in particular.

Gesink tested 6.7 w/kg this year, so I assume he's almost fully recovered now, it's 0.3 off his personal best and he was 2kg too heavy this time

Bit surprised to see Rohan Dennis there... speaks volumes about the value of this test versus actual climbing on the road. He posts the same numbers as Robert Gesink

Not to mention the guys who don't even make the best 20 anymore, like Denis Menchov and Thomas Dekker.

lol. you clealry don't understand the tests at all. these are short tests, like an hour. gesink can't train for longer than 3 hours so no he's not almost at his best again. and boom has gained weight then which is unfortune imo as I see him better as a hilly rider

 of course it says an increidble lot about climbing. but you also need to take in the weight of a rider. I'm sure wiggins had very high watt per kg weight when he was a track rider so when he lost considerable weight he became a much better climber

So basically you confirm my point

And apparently Dennis has about the same weight as Gesink as well.

Does anybody have any info on Rusvelo, who are their riders, their kit and bikes etc.? They have Pro Continental status and have applied for wildcards at RCS races and will ride at the Volta ao Algarve and whilst I will concede I don't understand Portuguese, the article in Record was of no use when trying to gather if they were going field in the race. There has been next to no articles about them on CN, they just appear mysterious.

I've seen the women's team but I'm pretty certain they won't be trying to get wildcard to ride the Tirreno, MSR etc. Google has been no use to me either, maybe in Dutch media is everywhere, but that is of no use to me.

It's a spinoff from the track program, it's basically a national team. Heiko Salzwedel is overseeing the whole thing so don't be surprised if there are a few decent performances. Henk Vogels is also a DS/development coach.

The thing is we don't know how seriously they will take the road, given how important the track will be until August.

Gesink already trained for 6 hours months ago. read his twitter...

You are sadly misinformed once again. Mr minister of misinformation...

Atleast 4 hours as a minimum.

An interview with Sean Kelly from a couple of weeks ago about An Post's prospects for this season. Apparently they signed three more riders than they originally had the budget for, but their sponsors agreed to give them more bikes etc.

It also seems, reading between the lines a bit, that they've come to some sort of arrangement with British Cycling to give young British track riders a shot on the road (they are up to four British riders this year, all 23 or younger). That makes a lot of sense, given that it's an English speaking team, based in Belgium and with a better programme than the British based Conti outfits. As an aside British Cycling apparently were pushing them hard to take on Jonny Bellis, which I think reflects pretty well on British Cycling.

Maybe we should change the thread title.

"Exact amount of hours that Robert Gesink spends in preparation of his next crash"
