It's a real shame Betancur cannot ride the GiroGeraint Too Fast said:Thanks. Betancur is certainly in good form at the moment...

Frank:“It all reminds me of the 2008 Tour of Italy when, one week before the start, we got an invitation for the race. In the end we won the overall.”

The Hitch said:Didn't Garzelli respond to the biggest screwjob in cycling history by saying he would try to focus on the Dauphine for the season instead then?
No, he said Suisse. He's probably well aware that Italian pro-conti teams don't get invites to ASO races, for whatever reason. The Hitch said:Didn't Garzelli respond to the biggest screwjob in cycling history by saying he would try to focus on the Dauphine for the season instead then?

Michele said:Today he was interviewed by RAI and he said he's not sure about leaving the sport or not, as he really wanted to say goodbye at this Giro.
He said he will end this season (by trying to get some win like at Lombardia) and then see if he still has motivations or not.
The Hitch said:Garzelli winning Lombardia would be a dream. I can't think of a scenario to which cycling fans would mark out more.
El Pistolero said:Garzelli is the reason Mapei folded. He got a 10 months ban or something. Of course he doped, everyone at Mapei did.

Seems like a win-win arrangement. Stable revenue for teams, a respectable startlist for RCS. So good to see positive news concerning money in cycling.
Parrulo said:RCS are being very smart here, mostly because ASO already said they refuse to do this kind of thing.
