Read a few weeks ago that Acqua had been invited to Suisse - has that been confirmed anywhere? Betancur could be a real factor there.

The only - confirmed - invitation so far for the Tour de Suisse has been handed to SpiderTech.

Didn't Garzelli respond to the biggest screwjob in cycling history by saying he would try to focus on the Dauphine for the season instead then?

I know you're using hyperbole but don't forget "The Great One" as you so like to call him was flicked from Le Tour in 08.

No, he said Suisse. He's probably well aware that Italian pro-conti teams don't get invites to ASO races, for whatever reason.

But got to do the Giro and Vuelta. A and S are left with nothing. And the Great One had years left in him. For Garzelli this was going to be his goodbye :(

You can do a lot to a man, but don't deny a legend the right to say goodbye to his fans.

Today he was interviewed by RAI and he said he's not sure about leaving the sport or not, as he really wanted to say goodbye at this Giro.
He said he will end this season (by trying to get some win like at Lombardia) and then see if he still has motivations or not.

Had me scared their for a sec. Thought you were talking about Contador:p

Garzelli winning Lombardia would be a dream. I can't think of a scenario to which cycling fans would mark out more.

Err... no? Not every cycling fan hails to the likes of Garzelli, Contador, Rebellin...

Garzelli is the reason Mapei folded. He got a 10 months ban or something. Of course he doped, everyone at Mapei did.
