Man, in the 2011 tour when Andy was in yellow he said he didn't think Andy could hold off Evans and keep yellow, now he's saying they should quit cycling . I don't think this guy is a very good dad.

I disagree with him, when the going gets tough you don't just quit.

I agree with you! Of course there's no reason to continue a sporting career at all costs, but quitting because of a bad year? Come on

I also find it quite funny that everyone seems to think of them as a unit. Even if Fränk does decide to call the quits because of the doping-case, I really don't see why that automatically should make Andy quit.

Pinocchio is very popular in Toscane and wasn't invented by Disney anyway. It also wasn't chosen in light of the recent events, the choice was long made already. If you've ever been to Firenze you'll know that they're proud of this little wooden boy. Funny coincidence, but very obvious choice. Not surprising at all.

It is also my understanding that one of the climbs on the circuit is named after Pinocchio, as it is close to the home of the writer.

I possibly read this on Inrng, but not certain. The same story also noted that Pinocchio also stands for hope in the region, not lying.

Will be good to see a big race in Toscane. They love cycling, but sadly don't have any classics or WT stage races(unless you count Tirreno-Adriatico).

They race the Strade Bianche there. While not WT it's becoming very popular with the riders and probably going to be one of the early season hi-lights from here on in. I'm just back from riding L'Eroica there and i'd reckon it's one of the most beautiful places to cycle in the world. El Pistolero is right, the people there do seem to love Pinnochio and are cycling mad. Every gift shop is packed with cycling gear instead of the usual soccer crap you get everywhere else.
