weak from gesink by putting the blame on someone else and not on himself. don't like it

but i still like the guy and wish him a good giro.
weak?
I don't know, if I was a clean rider I'd have the same thoughts.
However, if I was a cyclist I wouldn't be clean  my morals aren't that high. I'd do anything to win

In other news, big interview with Gesink in the Volkskrant, with some newsworthy quotes..

It appears he didn't want to ride the Tour 2012 at first, he wanted to try Giro/Vuelta, but the Rabobank more or less pressured/convinced him into going to the Tour.
He also said he thinks the decision from Rabobank to stop is completely wrong and the reason is stupid. He says they are being punished for something that happened years ago and also says the culture has changed a lot in recent years. He also said he never had any 'medical' support and they can control him all they want (then again, Armstrong said so as well lol).

He also says what Armstrong did was not top sport but top logistics and had more to do with maffia practices than with cycling. He says in the winter months he often thought "against what kind of guys have I ridden all these years and did it hurt my palmares, thinking of Rebellin (who beat him in PN) Mosquera, Valverde ... "
He also says he suspects some other riders whos performances he doesn't believe, but says he won't call them out with no proof ("they could also say, what a strange rider that Gesink, winning California after a broken leg, could also be suspected).
This is nonsense, he was talking about 2013.

It was a good interview, but it's a bit strange why among those dopers that cost him results he doesn't name a certain T. Dekker, for instance.

All stages of the Tour Down Under will be shown live this year. The first 4 stages will be shown on GEM and they will broadcast the final 2.5 hours of the stage. The final two stages will be shown in their entirety on Channel 9. Free live streaming for every stage will also be provided on the NineMSN website.

Great news!!!
With Phil and Paul commentating... I had hoped they would be banned from cycling after the USADA report ;)

Will the stream be non-geo restricted? Maybe I'll watch the Willunga stage then (at 5 AM).

I am 95% sure it won't be geo-restricted because it is being shown on a commercial network and they streamed the Wilunga stage live last year.

Rabobank for Tour Down Under
Mark Renshaw
Maarten Tjallingii
Jack Bobridge
Wilco Kelderman
Graeme Brown
David Tanner
Tom Jelte Slagter.

Lampre for Tour Down Under
Bruno Vicino
Davide Cimolai
Elia Favilli
Roberto Ferrari
Matthew Lloyd
Manuele Mori
Daniele Pietropolli
Simone Stortoni

I imagine that Lampre will be working for Lloyd on Wilunga Hill and Ferrari in the sprints.

Sky's classic's squad will most likely skip P-N and T-A this year. I'm not sure if that's a good idea to be honest. I can't remember any M-SR winners who didn't ride T-A or P-N...

Hm. Interesting. What EBH seems to be lacking, most of all, is the engine and toughness to function after 240+ k of hard racing. I wonder if skipping racing in the lead-up is really the solution.

But hey, it's worth the try.

It's been more visible than Quickstep's GC team...

QS has no GC team for Grand Tours.

Their focus is:
Sprinter classics: great team with Tommeke and Cav.
Cobbled classics: arguably the best team for those kind of races.
Time trials: arguably the best time trial specialist among their ranks.
Sprints: the best sprinter is in their team.
Team Time Trials: well, they're World Champions aren't they?
Short stage races: won plenty of them last season. Tony Martin is capable of winning WT stage races à la Paris-Nice.

But what has QS to do with this? Aren't you a little Calimero. ;)
