Yeah, these are the Asian Games and not the Asian Road Cycling Championships.
Asian Games are held once every 4 years, cycling is just one of many events and there is no jersey. Like Netserk stated, similar to the Olympics. The Hangzhou event was originally scheduled for 2022 and postponed until this year.
Asian Road Cycling Championships were held in July. That is the annual Asian Cycling Confederation event and winners have a jersey.

A few good videos about bike racing in China on YouTube

After the Jumbo soigneur got wrestled to the ground by Police in Spain after pushing one of them, I wonder if the teams will be warned before the UAE tour after reading the following article -
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/04/new-york-college-student-dubai-jail
(Quote)Elizabeth Polanco de los Santos, a New York college student, arrived in Dubai in July meaning to take only an hours-long layover during an international trip. But because she allegedly touched an airport security officer’s arm, she was detained there for more than two months and endured the threat of spending more than a year in prison before she was cleared to return home Tuesday, according to an advocacy group which supported her.
...
Despite the news Tuesday from Polanco, Detained in Dubai called on the US state department to revise its travel warnings “to include the risk of false allegations and extortion scams”.

Last year, officials in Dubai detained Tierra Allen of Houston, Texas, for months after accusing her of violating the UAE’s obscenity laws by yelling. She gained her release by paying more than $1,000 for the travel ban imposed on her to be lifted, Insider.com reported.

In a separate high-profile case in 2017, a Briton named Jamie Harron received a three-month jail sentence for touching a man’s hip while carrying a drink through a crowded bar. Officials alleged that the contact from Harron, an electrician, constituted public indecency. (end quote)

Of course Pogacar and his team mates should be ok!

Went to a community welcome home- congratulations party for Isaac Del Toro today at Revolution Park Ensenada, BC Mexico..
It was great, there was a few hundred people there specifically to see him, but also perfect day so the park was full of others who looked on..T-shirts, signed photos and comments by Del Toro, family and friends. There was many over the top sweet moments w his mom and dad and people who have been watching him race and develop since he was a young kid. Super happy event in every way..
He made a small speech about everything great, support, family, community and the opportunity to ride w some of the greats of the sport and privilege of UAE signing.. when he was almost finished, he said.. Oh yeah and getting paid a bunch of money to race my bike is great!! Good laugh
Congratulations to him and his family

Sounds fun, but did Ma Del Toro give tips on preparation like, "no back flips in the pool on rest days"? :) And at 19 he's still not the youngest on the UAE team for next year.

He didn't say anything but his face screamed at me" you gotta lose weight "..UAE is a good fit for him and they have a Spanish speaking component to the team, including management and the idea of being able to ride w racers who literally have done it all in professional cycling is mind blowing..

They are 2 young guys and young people are not known for good judgment or any life experience. Biggest issue with social media is when you do something really really stupid it's immediately part of your permanent record. Something to be said for keeping dumb in a small personal group.. Like 2 guys

Thijssen is 25, not 14. Not having the presence of mind of not only recording such childish sense of humor, but also putting it out on your socials deserves a punishment. Not being able to ride the least glamourous WT-race of the year is definitely not a too harsh judgement imo.
This, you expect this kind of stupid behaviour some middleschool boys, not full grown adults.

The UCI announced the WT, WWT and PRT team registration requests for next year today.

No change to the WT, aside from some name changes (Visma are temporarily registered as Blanco Pro Cycling Team, now there's a throwback). In the WWT, as previously known, we have lost EF-Tibco and Liv-Teq has been subsumed into Jayco. Ceratizit, AG Insurance and Laboral Kutxa have all applied for WWT status (there's only space for two of them, I would guess the latter won't make the cut). As for the ProTeams, as expected Human Powered Health and Black Spoke are gone, TDT-Unibet are the only new team that have applied so any lingering hopes of a Gianni Savio comeback can most probably also be put to bed.

Final decisions to be made 'in the first half of December', official announcement on December 12.

This also seems to confirm that Leopard TOGT will indeed cease to exist after this season., also strengthened by the fact that Sebastian Andersen (Kim's son) is moving to the Trek devo team.

It's not a huge surprise if the IPT/Roland partnership has come to an end. When it was announced that the devo team would be closed down after just one season, it was likely that the budget and ambitions would be lower going forward.

Laboral Kutxa won't get the 15th WWT spot, but with Ane Santesteban in the team, they will probably be invited to more races next year and should also be in contention to secure automatic invites for 2025 (unless Tashkent keeps scoring millions of points in random races).
