lemond simply believes any rider with bigger capacity than him is doped. also the guy is a total idiot. not saying we should judge people just by iq's here but he's really stretching it. other than that the uci is the WORLD union. lemond only cares about the tour de france. the uci did lots of bad stuff, but their globalisation projects have paid off very well. lemond would never care for that. also the man has an ego bigger than armstrong and verbruggen combined. imagine a rider saying anything about lemond or uci when lemond is boss... it would become ugly. he's good for speaking his mind, but as uci boss, after all those years we need someone silent and trustworthy without an ego and holding a grudge on everyone that has ever "screwed" him in the past 20 years.

Yes I don't think Lemond is the answer. Someone outside the system is needed. But also someone who is willing to make changes and who is not caught up in the problems from the past. Sometimes all it takes is a good administrator with an open mind and the less political the better.
