It looks like it is:

At first I got excited that they are using the ascent right next to it, which is steeper and very narrow, but I guess this is an improvement anyway.

Watch out for Petite Forclaz on stage 5 as well. Almost 10% average. And of course Champex. The toughest finish in about a decade.

Lol, in Romandie La Vue-des-Alpes is surely a cat.1, giving it cat.2 might make some underestimate it.

It is a very strong startlist, but with some strange typos and nation errors in it. Maxime Bouet's name has been Russified to Maxim, a few other errors such as "Bakelats" permeate, and most awesomely, Nathan Haas has become Nathan Haaas. Rory Sutherland has become American, Simon Gerrans Danish, André Cardoso is now Canadian, and Kevin de Weert has moved north. At least Zoidl becoming Australian is at least a slightly understandable error!

You're right - there will be hour long highlights around 18:00,19:00 on the day on RaiSport2

I guess the Rai just don't have the money to do live and are saving what they have for il Giro.

Movistar and Lampre withdraw because of injuries from classic races. Shame.

It's not a superb line up but It's first edition (there was before, but different organization). It's great promotion for Croatia. TV coverage (Eurosport). Stages are very well planed and if the whether is nice you will enjoy this race. Coast, national parks, old towns..beautiful scenery..amazing..and of course The Ucka climb. Fun fact: Michael Rasmussen in 2001 came first on the top of Ucka (name of the race was Jadranska Magistrala).

Croatia is becoming great preseason training place for many teams. Vladimir Miholjevic (ex Liquigas, Acqua & Sapone rider) is the main man of this event.

Since ToC is live on Eurosport, how about making a separate race thread. The race will like get a little better exposure here and who knows maybe the thread will get some traction.

I can't say that you are wrong, but in another forum, my question about that group was answered thus: "there was an article about it in Het Nieuwsblad today. That group of riders was 6 or 7 minutes behind the leaders, therefore there was no immediate reaction from the race jury, as they [the jury] were with the first group (otherwise they would have been taken out of the race immediately). In the future someone from the jury will wait there until every rider has passed." So that report would imply that they were eventually removed, from the results if not the course. Ignore me:this was about U23 RvV, I didn't avert to LBL in your text.

They were 7 minutes down at the one in the RVV U23. So the U23s seem to be doing it more than the Elites.
