Kleber Ramos, Alex Diniz and Flavio Cardoso, those guys always put on a show in the typical South American wacky races and not only in San Luis, so they should do well in Portugal.

I think Kleber and Diniz will be the Rio team. So no Volta for them.

Ok, I didn't consider the fact that Rio interfers with the Volta. That's a shame, without those 2 they probably won't be a big factor in the fight for the gc.

Good news: the team of Ciolek, Gerdemann, Kämna will exist as a ProConti team in 2016. New name of the project: "Stölting Service Group". Looks like they will sue Cult Energy for dropping out of the contract...

That is indeed good news. :)

Funnily enough, in Denmark there's more focus on how it's the team of Reihs, Norman, Kamp, Pedersen, Carbel, Guldhammer and Quaade. :p

The TA route will be presented next Monday.
Rumoured route:

Stage 1 Lido di Camaiore (T)TT
Stage 2 ???
Stage 3 ???
Stage 4 Montalto di Castro - Foligno
Stage 5 Foligno - Matelica
Stage 6 ??? - Cepagatti
Stage 7 S.Benedetto del Tronto ITT

Stage 4 is on a Saturady, and if they want there are a few hills outside Foligno.
Stage 5 finishes in the same area as this year's stage 4, so it's the most promising.
Stage 6 will hopefully be very hilly. Or maybe not. Who knows. The town is 12 kms from Chieti, so plenty of potential is there.
It looks like there will be no MTF.

Trek Factory Racing is now Trek-Segafredo. As widely predicted.
I can imagine the sponsorship developing into a long-term Italian project beyond 2016..
It's been hinted in some news preceding the announcement.

That's good news, I'd take an awesome typical hilly T-A stage over any MTF.
I really think that Trek-Segafredo will try to get Nibali for 2017/2018.

Good for the sport in general, I guess, and an interesting prospect for Italian cycling...

In the short term, I fear it will mean even more mediocre Italian cyclists at Trek :D

I like it as well. Who is riding? Surely Nibali (to a lesser degree), Dumoulin, Thomas, Kwiatkowski, etc should be slobbering over this route?

Good. We need a successor to Saeco.

Now they just need a crazy showpony sprinter. Cipo still looks fairly fit....

TA: Landa, Kwiatkowski, Tejay, Nibali, Valverde, Purito, Pinot, Peraud, Pozzovivo, Chaves, Mollema, Valls, Dan Martin.
PN: Thomas, Froome, Porte, Aru, Contador, Spilak, Yates bros, Bardet, Barguil, Rolland, Gallopin, Costa, Ion Izagirre.

Quintana is riding neither. The only one I'm missing some info on is Dumoulin. But it's likely that he is riding T-A. Majak is another question mark.

I think TA will be won by Valverde. It's tailor-made for him. If he is bringing Malori, Castroviejo, Dowsett, they are going to destroy the rest in the TT. And if there are bonus seconds, he could take a lot of seconds in reduced sprints.

The only GC rider as fast as him is Kwiatkowski.

It's hard to judge without knowing the profile of stage 4, but aside from that stage the GC fight seems like a simple watt burning contest in the prologue and stage 6 final climb.

Both march stage races are basically the same like every year with the same kind of riders winnig here. Boring. Only hard weather will make it interesting.
