Originally I glanced over this and thought it seemed like a nice short steep climb.

After doing the numbers though, it's 6.5km @ 14.8%, that's harder than Angliru

Not as hard as the Zoncolan

I agree, but there are plenty of people who have tried arguing Angry > Zonc.

Going purely by the, worst 6km % grade, doesnt Zoncolans middle 6k pretty much match this, with 14.9% or some such total, and thats on top of the 5k that are a mere 9% in total.

Dale Parker has retired from the sport (according to RIDE magazine editor). He's the guy DAOTEC loved to mentioned because he hit a friend whilst DUI. Huge talent, guess there's been more problems.

What a fall from grace, all this in 18 months or so since breaking the 3000m WR (2.5s faster than Phinney and 1.5s faster than Hepburn) and demolishing the U19 National TT.

It all sounded like things were on the up this year too. What did Axel do to him?

Gesink chickened out again. Just like in 2008 when he was supposed to ride the Giro but did the Vuelta instead. He now decided not to ride the Giro after all and go for the Tour-Vuelta double instead.

Too bad. Still think the Giro would be THE gc for him. :(

Lol, if that's true than Kolobnev is really an idiot.

indeed, its just too stupid too be true. with a LBL win under his belt kolobnev would have gotten a much bigger contract then he did the following year and not to talk about the prestige of a LBL win

Kolobnev as 100,000 is nothing for Vino. Now Kolobnev is a doper and fraudeur.

Eh?

So the guy who could have won for free is not an idiot because 100,000 is nothing for him.

Strange logic you have sometimes...

that explains all those second places of alex kolobnev though :p joking......
weren't discussions that kolobnev was paid also by bettini in 2007 just to be sure like vino now?
this is a long practice, can't be stopped.the fact that they made it to finish is enough for me,strongest riders of that day.vino the best won.

Vino is at the end of his career, this story won't hurt him a lot. It will hurt Kolobnev a whole lot though especially with his doping case right now and you're just assuming he ran out of gas.

Yeah, you're right. A rider with a lot of second places decided what the heck, I'll settle for another one as long as I got paid even though I can actually win.
