Teams & Riders General topic for riders who don't deserve their own thread (yet)

No, but the guy seems talented enough to get both, although with the increasing amount of official devo teams the stagiaire system doesn't make as much sense anymore.

But a stagiare contract would basically just be going through an extra bunch of steps for something he's already able to do as a devo team rider.
And I would be surprised if he gets the spot left from Bonnamour getting sacked.

If the rumours about their financial troubles are true, then they probably prefer not to pay him a WT salary before January. Other teams can force them to act fast though, if they believe in him.

Why would you be surprised? I thought you just watched.

I just watch in the sense that I don't try to understand the - sometimes rather strange - tactics various teams use.
I do understand that being Danish National Champion just isn't enough to warrant an instant promotion to WT, especially not when riding for a team that probably doesn't rank Danish Championships that highly.
On the other hand, I won't be that surprised if he gets a WT contract for next year, but just continues as CT rider until then, with the occasional guest-riding appearances on the WT. Unless they decide that he absolutely needs to ride Renewi Tour...

Of course, we're not gonna see anything from the team about it just yet. They've understandably been busy celebrating Lapeira's win.

Does Anniina have a twin brother, or are we dealing with a major coincidence?

Yes she has. The brother seems to compete more in mountain bike races though.

I assume there is no Jörgen Nordhagen thread yet so I'll use this thread.

There was a skiing podcast who recently did an interview with Jörgen Nordhagen which ended up being mostly about cycling. Very interesting listen.

It will be very interesting to see how Nordhagen starts the year next season. This year he had a rather late start to cycling in April due to competing in skiing until February. I'm thinking that since Nordhagen is used to being in competition shape in the winter due to his skiing, it will be interesting to see how that translates into his cycling training and preparation for next season.

It would be interesting to see if they even send him to Tour Down Under already. This year Johannes Staune-Mittet was part of the TdU squad but he didn't seem to be in the best shape despite having the same background as Nordhgen so perhaps being used to competition shape in winter doesn't translate directly to racing shape in January.
