Peloton split in to 4 different echelons in De Moeren in the u23 race. So there should be enough wind for something to happen in the pro race too.

There will be less wind the coming 2 hours or so, but then it is expected to pick up significantly, to around 12-15 m/s around 17:00 CET.

Van Hooydonck, Girmay, Mohoric, Küng, Ganna, Vanmarcke, Kristoff, Politt, Bettiol...
Yeah, pretty much agree here. Would perhaps consider Mohoric as a favorite if he didn't participate in E3. Add Wellens and Stuyven and you have the most of those I would consider as outsiders.

14 man front group with some strong guys in it. A bit surprising they just this go.

Are PCS slow with updating their liveupdates? They have almost a minute between the first group (8 man) and the chase group (6 man).

I am assuming they will come together pretty soon as the chasing group already closed down the gap by 2 min.

love the fact the tv made a deliberate decision to show ef's pre race meeting, knowing there was swearing in it and with it being aired at midday.

It's almost tragic to see GVA in the break in this race.

I was just going to post this very thing; he was always one of my favorite riders but at this point I'd rather see him retire than continue like this. I know he was sick earlier last week but even at full strength there is no way he's competitive with the big guns any longer.

it is sad. but he is 37 now, and time waits for no man. that 2017 season was a great memory in that gold lined bmc jersey, winning omloop, e3, gw, roubaix and would have probably won flanders if it wasn't for the crash.

That Flanders crash is one of my saddest ever cycling memories; I really believed that one was his to lose. Watching him win Roubaix was great but you know he'd trade it for a Ronde win in a minute.
