Yeah, it’s a very different finale if he holds on. It changes the calculation for the other fast guys in gavour of attacking.

That said, this is the first time I’ve thought that Bennett actually does have the engine to win a proper classic, in a slightly easier edition than this where he gets a bit of protection. Very many classics have been won with less expenditure of energy than it took to be in the front group in the wind today all day.
In recent years, winning Omloop or Dwars is probably easier for a real sprinter than GW.

No, he was tired and couldn't follow. Matthews almost lost contact as well and did some stretching later on, breakaways are hard for sprinters.
It looked like he was throwing up TBH.

There was a helicopter shot and it looked bad at one point.

I think I just saw someone in a Movistar helmet, whose jersey had a slightly differently blue colour.

That looked painful for Tenniglo; couldn't get her foot clipped out, so her leg got twisted weirdly.

I should re-watch the finale but I think he kind of decided to be in last wheel. Not very smart, but I don't think he would have won anyway.

Trentin said it was mainly him creating the first echelon. He went to the front and put down the hammer, the group split and he had a few TBE riders who started helping straight away.
Yeah, he was on Wout's wheel, then he move back to be last wheel.
It would have been closer if he was on his wheel, but I doubt that he'd have beaten him.

First time watching this race and probably the last. What a boring festival of speed. Bennett not making really killed any hopes of a interesting sprint since the guys in the front had no chance against Van Aert.
