Great win by Peter the Great. Well deserved.

He and Cancellara will put up a big fight in Flanders. Really looking forward too it!

Démare showing to doubters he's not a fraud.

?????

By finishing in the second group in the 'sprinter's classic'?

The race wasn't exactly a walk in the park... Showing he's truly the best hardman sprinter right now.

Damn Sagan won, what a let down
Do you even like cycling? Seriously. What a loser.

Did you really need to add the last part?
Yes. Anyone that is on a cycling forum and hates cycling is what? Hating Sagan on a cycling race is hating everything great cycling stands for.

Anyway, Gaviria should take a rest. After the track and tirreno he is just burning himself.

* Oh! Just saw on the replay that Sagan was the one making the strong push and leaving everybody (besides Canc.) KO.

Sagan is really uncomfortable based on his expressions, I think he will have nothing for the sprint.
He might be working extra hard now to get the gap out, so he can ease off a bit in the last 2-3km and recover enough to put in a better sprint. Better than having to keep working really hard until the last 500m because the chasers are too close.
Good call.

I love how Sagan rode the finale. Usually, the riders race off him. He understood the dynamic. This is Spartacus' last year and this would be a big win for Vanmarcke. He is repping the Rainbow Jersey.

People are allowed to have opinions without being insulted, i'm not a fan of Sagan myself but even if I was and someone wasn't happy he won I wouldn't be calling the person a loser. Nothing wrong with a bit of civility in a discussion

Just imagine Sagan would always sprint like today. He would already have won Omloop, E3 and Gent-Wevelgem this year. He and Sagan are now probably the favorites for RVV.

Ps: And now directly after the race is over it starts to rain. Seriously?

Apart from Sagan.

And in a race without Kristoff, where GVA and Bouhanni were ill, and Greipel recovering from injury. Don't think it proves much either way.

By legitimately not winning a race?

Don't agree with the Vanmarcke critisisms. He had already worked to come back and attacked on the Baneberg.

That's irrational fanboyism. Hating or loving particular riders just because "why not". I don't enter in those childish plays.

I like cycling. That means liking every ciclist that leaves it all on the road. No one has been doing that more than Peter.

He rode a good race and has been showing some good form lately, he is in with a good chance to take one of the big races on the next 2 weeks

He beat them in Paris-Nice and Sanremo. He did an excellent race without any teammate during more than 140k today. It's time for doubters to step aside.

And here I thought I could cheer for any outcome I please and even say so in this forum without fanbois throwing their toys out of the pram. I'm shocked to learn I was mistaken.

Just kidding, I have known that for years. :p

I don't think anyone really doubts that Demare is a good rider.

But I don't see how finishing 5th here, with a lot of the best sprinters absent or ill, refutes the suggestion that he may have bent the rules at MSR, or indeed, that he was the strongest rider there.

Well, there always has to be a Sagan finishing 2nd, right? :D
No, ofc I meant Cancellara

I am not sure if I am happy about this win or not. Happy that his form is great and he can sprint on the end of long atack unhappy that he has no ace to play with in Ronde anymore. He has just put another mark on his Jersey. Nobody will underestimate his sprint anymore. And nobody even Cance will pull him to the finish.

They won't.

At least Nacer didn't win in that all-over-the-road sprint, otherwise he'd be taking flak. By now we'd have the mob outside: "hang him!" and of course a "who's the moral winner of GW?" thread. :D

Yes, Demare is for real. But today the story is Sagan, and I'm really happy for him. I hope Cance wins a big one soon: he deserves it.
