Is that confirmed? Considering there was a headwind and a lot of stop start attacking at the midway point, I doubt they rode PDB particularly fast today.

Yep confirmed by jens.

That's what you wanted right? Thomas riding better than armstrong xD

No way :D

Seriously.

Wow!!!!

Strange this place is not going crazy.
This is more ridiculous than anything Froome has done (as if that is not wild enough to begin with).
It's just a mockery. It's Sella '08 level. Ricco on Aspin. Floyd Landis.

Plateau de Beille often compared to Mont Ventoux. Thomas conceded 27 minutes to Quintana on Mont Ventoux in 2013.

Obviously racing circumstances were different, but illustrates the huge climbing improvements Thomas has made this year.

At the age of 30 that is cleans

Yes, circumstances were different, he had a broken pelvis. At least make valid comparisons.

Yes it must be a right pain in the ar$e watching Sky do a USPS........... :D

So Thomas should have been with Quintana on Ventoux in '13....got it.

today the best climbers were all together for the first time but the group had some resemblance to this picture

When did I say that? Plenty of examples that you could have used that make Thomas look ridiculous but you choose one where he was riding with a broken pelvis. Why not use one of the mountain stages from last year when he had a free role after Froome crashed out?

We've been here before. Many times. In fact, it's been 25 years of crap like this. I think it's fair to say that pro cycling has used up all its chances; it's simply not going to change. You're going to be force fed this bullsh!t with just enough plausible deniability to keep the fans from walking away. Stuff like: He only pulled 6.1 W/kg so he *could* be clean since that's humanly possible (for one or two people per generation and not 15 guys at any given race).

I agree. The sport ha had too many opportunities to change the culture of doping. It refuses.

What is more interesting is that you didn't. Why is that? Think Thomas can cleanly beat dopers times?

I dont.

Bizarre. I have posted plenty of times about Thomas being an obvious doper going back to the 2013 Dauphine. It's quite a simple question, why did you make a comparison with a stage where Thomas had a broken pelvis when there are plenty of others you could have used to make a valid comparison. The answer is simple. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Classics specialist Thomas, chasing down attacks as a domestique, 45.38. And today was a headwind.

Ooops, error in the Matrix, can't use the usual "maybe tailwind" argument... so maybe... Liestrong was not fully racing the first half, or there are some positive effects of rain (cooling, better rolling resistance, evaporating water on hot road creates upwards-heading airstream that negates the wind and makes them lighter...), or any other magical explanation.

yeah, he's going to be amazing when he matures some more and really works on his climbing.

Ah yes, the Armstrong era "I'm not making a defense, but I'm making a defense" ***. It's 2015, get a new shtick...that one is played. P.L.A.Y.E.D.

You could see this coming a few hundred miles away. The first MtF is generally by and large the bellweather. He wasn't just riding along that day, he humiliated Valverde. The next day he rolled along like a boss in the first group as if it's just normal.

So that he's crushing everyone besides Froome? It was to be expected.

=> The mental gymnastics of the Sky fans to make this one work are fantastic. For comparison we are looking at Hinault and Merckx :D

I love this sport :D

Mancebo attacked the GC group on Port de Lers.

Whatever his motivation, he has a point. Plenty of other, more comparable data points from Thomas, no need to use that one which is faulty.

Indeed, even more so as he has ridden the same climb before in 2011 (56th place beaten 14.59m). By the way, I have no motivation. I am as disgusted by Thomas as anyone here. That doesn't mean that posters like Benotti and the sceptic should have free rein to post whatever bilge they want.
