Nice, the "pirate" photo actually do exist. Who are the riders on there, we can take their Giro participation for sure!

most of the jersey's colors are (or at least were) sponsor related, so is the pink jersey and so are all jerseys in the Tour de France. And it's not like there is any tradition in "winning the green jersey", so I must say, I don't really care which color it carries. Blue is fine for me

There IS a tradition in the Maglia Verde. It is (was...) the only meaningful jersey in the Giro (after the pink, of course). Countless champions wore that jersey.

The new jerseys of Giro : http://www.****iociclismo.it/?action=read&idnotizia=19014 , change stars with s p a z (without spaces)
Is a good thing that an italian big bank (Mediolanum) put a lot of money in Giro in this time of crisis but green jersey was historical (more than 70 years) with very great riders that wore it...:(
Anyway we can say that there is a symbolism...if green represented the woods of alps, blue will represent the sky toward which climbers go ;)

That sucks. I didn't like the change from the ciclamino to the red, but it didn't bothered me too much, but this is crap. I hope the Giro won't take the Vuelta way of changing the jerseys 4389565376 times.

Don't know what "happened", but he's on the start list for Trentino:

http://www.girodeltrentino.com/IT/1/1/Squadre.htm

Maybe he's slowly building up for a peak at the giro, which arguably will be the biggest race NetApp will ride this season. If so, he shouldshow himself in Trentino.

Thanks:)

He was NOT on the Appennino and Trentino startlist on NetApp's website several days ago but it seems he started the Appennino(despite resulting in DNF)and on the startlist for Trentino. I thought he got some problem though.

Really hope he can ride a good giro to compensate for the absence of Garzelli and Betancur:(

Sounds like a good mission. I know my attachment to the Giro was that it was the first cycling I had really paid attention to (and that it was available on an NBC channel when I didn't have cable/Versus)

I hadn't seen Acquarone's personality before this, but he seems like he has a good head head on his shoulders for the race's future.

Leo's been terribly suffering from a shape pain in his back from the beginning of the season. Probably there's a vertebral torsion pinching innervation, it looks like surgery is needed, but I think that despite of all he wants to try Giro.

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but Scarponi is definitely doing the Giro, he says. The Giro just got a new favorite.
It's been mentioned approx 100 times, but every time there was someone trolling about him doing the tdf, quoting some random article:rolleyes:

Who is everyones favourites for the opening prologue??? Based on BMC's performance at the GDT i think either Pinotti or Phinney would be favourites.
Malori and Rasmussen ( especially ) could also go well.

Also how is Fuglsang going???

I'd also add Bobridge in there. Probably someone from Rabo will do well too
