He also said he liked the route, that 20th stage will be decisive, and also that he looks forward to stages 6, 7 and 8 [or at least one of them, I'm not sure] because it's going through Marche, region in which he lived.

The Giro makes a big deal out of the fans, and it gets a lot of them.

They are all saying how it's very balanced and 'humane' route. Which basically means that they think it's easy route.
Well, it seems that both Giro and Tour will be far from spectacular, but it doesn't mean it will be bad.
