Moncenisio, Telegraphe/Galibier, Alpe. Starting from Turin it's 229 kms long.
This is what I fear indeedPeccio89 said:Alpe through the Lautaret will eliminate any will to attack on the Agnello/Izoard or Sestriere/Monginevro.

I'd love to have an HC as a warm up before it. This way's too easyHavetts said:So? 37 kilometers uphill! Thats sick!
Eshnar said:yesterday I heard a rumour about an MTF on the Nivolet.
Dunno if it's reliable (the Nivolet is been rumoured every damn year) but I'll post it anyway.

The big issue about this (unedited but pretty famous) climb is that it's not properly linkable with any other climb...

The final 13km would hurt!

No, it's near the border but it's not reachable from France, the only way up starts from east.Ferminal said:Ah, right on the border.
Maybe the Tour could use it if the Giro doesn't![]()
Skip Madness said:The women's Giro is going up there this year but only as far as Ceresole Reale, about halfway up and before the much steeper stuff. I thought I once read something about there being a lack of space at the top, maybe that's wrong though.

sorry I was sure it was rightSkip Madness said:Just so you know, the word "unedited" doesn't quite translate there. In English you'd normally say "unused", "untested" or "unknown in racing" or something like that.
valentius borealis said:I was looking at the Nivolet on Google Earth a few days ago, due to my Italian road atlas having a road marked from the north (which may or may not have existed in the past). I'd love to see a MTF there.
An ITT on that would make too huge gaps imho.Pilgaard said:Could be interesting as an ITT. Zomegnan obviously enjoys having an mountain ITT on the menu every year, and it would be a change to have a long ascent without too steep pitches.

37 km is too long for a MTT. There would be easily 2-3 minutes between the 1st and the 2nd
