Thanks, doing a little searching and he's been talking about doing it pretty much from the moment he was cleared to ride again.

Yeah was going to say he did an interview 2 weeks ago where he stated he wanted to ride the Giro to get his form back.

Since Beltran and Trusov were removed yesterday.

So that's four riders excluded from the race now including Max Iglinsky and Lutsenko.

This is a really poor show. A Giro start would have been the highlight of Beltran's career so far.

Erm, you are aware where the Tour is starting this year, are you?
Yes. I obviously meant after that. No GT should start (or race) outside of the Schengen imo.

I think for the career of Beltran it's good to ride some more one week races, and do the Vuelta later in the year. Why doing a GT already after just 2 months in the WT?

Deported by whom and for what? Ireland and the UK have a mini-Schengen type agreement known as the Common Travel Area and once you have a visa for one, you can freely travel around both. There are no border checks on roads between Northern Ireland and the Republic. Also, as the race is crossing the border, he has a valid case for applying for a visa in Ireland as he will be 'working' there.
