Stage 11 (the day before the ITT), the only non-uphill finish that isn't a flat stage:

That's a cool stage, just like Montecopiolo

Netserk, nice one for the links.

Denmark part 2 here we come.

I like the route after that though.

Oh my goodness, the Irish stages are not good.

I like the first weekend, though.

Edit, the first weekend in Italy.

How to ruin a good looking stage, put 42km of flat after the last climb.

A shame there are no hills in Ireland but I am sure Cavendish will be licking his lips with 6 chances in the first 13 stages.

I think this route is way too backloaded, I hope that riders will prove me long

Yeah, the first 7 days will be pretty boring, regardless. Poor stage design. It's hit and miss after that. Some great finishes, better than in the last couple years, IMO, but again a third week that doesn't really work, this time with a brutal MTT that could neuter a couple otherwise promising stages.

I think it is way too back loaded. Another week of bad weather or snow puts so much of it under threat that it would be better to spread out some of the climbs

The first few stages look like a waste of time but after that it looks very good. Well balanced route and they have learned from this year to avoid the 2000+ MTF's. Little disappointed they haven't included some strade bianchi, but other than that a very good design on first sight.

There seem to be stretches along the coastline... any Irish locals care to tell us what the wind tends to do over there?

Prevailing wind is from the W/SW.

So from the wrong direction :(

Well, there aren't that many high altitude climbs next year. As far as I can se, the Val Martello stage is the only time they go above 2000m.

so lets design two stages in Ireland where racing will have zero impact on the GC. Crash impact is acceptable, but race impact is a no no. Are there such a thing as an Irish sprinter or will a local boy get to do 170km solo rides?
