I think this kind of stage finish could be much more interesting now - a real leg-killer for someone. Going hard for a couple of hours, followed by two hours of soft pedalling, then having to finish with a 30 minute all out effort can be tougher than a multi-mountain stage in some ways. Surely at least one of the contenders will have blocked legs - and maybe also riders haven't eaten properly during all the earlier action.

Why would a four time Grand Tour winner care for a second or third place? Zakarin and Pinot have a **** palmares compared to Nibali, so obviously they would kill for those places. Your post really makes no sense.

Why would a four time GT winner even start when it is obvious he doesn't have it anymore.

He won the queen stage with lot's of class and is third in GC. Go troll somewhere else.

There's no issue about whether he was at the back of the peloton. The issue is whether he (and the other Dutchies) were back there because they were coming back from a natural break or not. There are conflicting reports on that.

I'm caught between hoping it's true because it's funny and hoping it's not because I would have to drastically reevaluate my opinion of a few riders I like downwards if they really did do it.
