Traksel really made this up. Vanbelleghem who is sitting next to him doesn't believe it

Let's just kill this sport, you're never allowed to attack. Someone will ALWAYS have an excuse. 'Oh no, the sun was shining in my eyes when they attacked, so unfair! Cheaters!'

Since when did this become a sport for pussies?

What an idiot

Sunweb DS confirmed to RAI that Tom wasn't on a toilet break when they attacked. Heard with my ears.
Did they ask him in Italian, English or Dutch? Was there any ground for confusion on his part?
Asked in a very bad English, answered in a fairly good English. Re-asked for confirmation. Reply was very very clear. Tom was at the back of the peloton. No ground for confusion.

There's no issue about whether he was at the back of the peloton. The issue is whether he (and the other Dutchies) were back there because they were coming back from a natural break or not. There are conflicting reports on that.

I'm caught between hoping it's true because it's funny and hoping it's not because I would have to drastically reevaluate my opinion of a few riders I like downwards if they really did do it.
Even if he went for a pee pee, did you watch the video? Dumo was strolling around at the back of the peloton on a sunday ride. He is in the pink jersey ffs. He thrash talked Nairo and Nibali and they can't dislodge him on the climbs.

From my point of view, basically no matter what with the information we have right now, is this on Dumoulin.

That wont stop those that want to trash MS and Bahrain.
LOL czech commentators are claiming exact opposite - that Sunweb DS confirmed they did attack during t-b. Maybe they've got lost in the translation though.

From Cyclingnews live text:
"Sunweb team manager Iwan Spekenbrink has claimed Dumoulin was on a nature break and was attacked by Movistar and Bahrain."

Iwan Spekenbrink can't even tie his shoelaces together by himself, why would anyone trust him?

I think you'd have a different opinion if they'd attacked Nibali

Exactly. The fact Quintana keeps getting rewarded for being a coward this Giro is really irritating tbh. Bring back Pantani! :p

"no, he was not stopped for a pee he was in the peloton. He was still at the back moving up before the descent."

That's what he said.

It's hilarious to see some people here pretending there aren't conflicting reports about what happened :D

But hey, whatever suits your bias!

Why the hell would it matter? He was back in the peloton, confirmed. Do they all now need to wait that sits next to him before they can attack?

Was Kruijswijk, Mollema and Yated having group cross-pee with Dumoulin?

I don't think there was anything wrong with that attack. The blame goes to ***-up media of this Giro. Collectively.

That's what he said.

You can read two things from that still though. He was incompetent and just at the back of the group. OR he was moving up after a stop. We need to hear from the man himself Dumo. It's the only way to solve this.

stage looks boring now. Still think this will crack some legs on the final climb. They might actually put time on Dumoulin now.

It's just one guy. An ex-cyclist not a journo who made up the story

I guess that the facts will emerge in about 2 hours - when Tom gets asked after the finish.
