I don't know. Dumoulin has always paced himself on the higher gradients. But it's not looking awfully good, but the climb will flatten soon.

Well the question is how big the trouble is right? If he feels he can't hang on directly he could have decided to ride it as a TT and simply ignore the rest.

I guess whoever attacks first is vulnerable to counter attacks. No-one confident enough in their legs to ride away from the peloton right now.
