Surely they have to get going if Dumoulin is actually struggling? Dumoulin still has a teammate and the gradient will ease in a few km

Is he having an off day ? Always a bad idea for a race leader to hang at the back, unless he is planning an attack.

He had to go on the steeper sections. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to drop Costa
