Meh, while I agree this stage is lacking something we don't need it to finish on the Zoncolan. It hasn't been at all interesting the last couple times we have been up it.

They arent even riding - they're peddling on the 19th stage of a GC. I thought we could have had a better route for sure.

I don't think the GPS was right when the footage started. I counted around 40s between the groups from the one long heli shot they showed in the valley, yet the GPS said it was almost 2 minutes.

Nah. None of them can handle the Landa in 13 km at 8%.
The only issue is how well recovered is Landa from yesterday.

JK... I know typos can happen. Though, don't you usually need to pedal in order to ride a bike? Except for the downhills, of course.

Why aren't the opponents of TD pick up the pace. They had him isolated in the first climbs. And, now for more than 50 kms, they let the Sunweb team relax and recuperate.
If they had picked up the pace, they might have had Dumoulin isolated early on on the climb. Now, he probably will be to have help in the most difficult part of the climb. Then, it will be too late to make up significant time . Are they forgetting they need at least 2 minutes up on Dumoulin if they want to win ?

I took some artistic licence with the name so it's possible it isn't named after a North America shrub...

The first 6 kms are hard. After that , it gets under 6 % . And there will be lots of time to catch up a rider that would be foolish enough o go early.
I know Landa is hungry for a stage victory . But Sanchez is a good tactical rider. 3 or 4 years ago, i would have chosen him. Now , i don't think he has the legs.
If Landa goes early, his main competition will be Pierre Rolland

Irrelevant by itself. What matters the most are who are riders that are on the front and behind, not the amount. Plus, their rouleur skills and ability to organize themselves to distance who's behind. The same can be said about those who were behind.
Either way, with the last mountain of the day and tomorrow's stage they had to conserve their energies instead of doing desperate attacks.

Either Dumoulin cracks on the final climb or he cracks everyone in the final part of the climb. I can't see anything in between.
