Irrelevant by itself. What matters the most are who are riders that are on the front and behind, not the amount. Plus, their rouleur skills and ability to organize themselves to distance who's behind.

Organization, and to a lesser extent ability matter, obviously. But even Eddy Mercxx and Fabian Cancellara on peak form can't out TT the Quickstep B-team on a flat course. Numbers do matter.

But in any case I'd bet at some point that chasing group would've exploded. There were still three or four doms in that front group. At some point that back group would've started looking at Tommy D.

They arent even riding - they're peddling on the 19th stage of a GC. I thought we could have had a better route for sure.

What are they peddling? Gels? Bottles?
JK... I know typos can happen. Though, don't you usually need to pedal in order to ride a bike? Except for the downhills, of course.

But yes they were going too slow too casual! Its that kinda stage I think.

As weird as this stage has been, the riders peddling all of a sudden actually wouldn't surprise me...
