I must've missed it when I blinkedThomas attacking the most mythic moment today
JV will not even be there!I dont care what anyone says he will pay for this at the Tour
Vinge and Rog love this
Easily explained by celebrating and smiling while Thomas and Martinez did some mountain sprint.Pogacar lost 10s on that final climb to a 38 year old Thomas.
Bufalo Thomas!Pogacar lost 10s on that final climb to a 38 year old Thomas.
Totally disagree. It's a long ways to the Tour, and his investment in this ride today pays off by letting him finish the rest of the race riding like 'Il Patrono'. No one is even going to dream of attacking him; he can just monitor what podium riders are left and watch the peons fight for stage wins. He's winning this in the TT's, and a big day today (which also has the added effect of reducing/eliminating talk of this being a panache-free win), and barring accident zero drama for him in the week to come.
This is what he needed to do today and he did it in as spectacular a fashion as possible given the opposition.
Ah but GC Thomas is actually several years younger. You just have to write off the first several years of his career to see a normal development pathway, so he's really performing like he's ~32 here.Pogacar lost 10s on that final climb to a 38 year old Thomas.
Is this legendary? 30s on granpa Quintana, minutes on great granpa Thomas and the superstar Martinez? It is one for the ages
Legendary stage and performance in the end
Vingo never needs to actually raceIs this legendary? 30s on granpa Quintana, minutes on great granpa Thomas and the superstar Martinez?
Like the whole year already, efforts are being exaggerated because the competition isn't there.
A good Vingegaard would have easily followed this legendary performance, so with real competition, this stage would have been a close-knit fight and not something heroic / legendary.
Probably one of the worst fields ever in the Giro(except Pogacar).LOL Watching Thomas and Martinez is like watching two puppies fighting over the dinner table scraps while the Big Dog is already taking a nap with a full stomach.
Yup it was legendary and a great oneIs this legendary? 30s on granpa Quintana, minutes on great granpa Thomas and the superstar Martinez?

Well, I was wondering why the early pace isn't high, now we know... OMG, almost 3 minutes to the rest of GC contenders in 12-13 kms, 👽 performance...Impossible to be in trouble when the pace of this stage has been so low, even if it is a stage with 5600 vertical meters.
I still think, and results of the recent years seem to prove it, Thomas is after Pogacar and Vingegaard in the next tier. Maybe Roglic and Evenepoel have a slight edge. But slight (last years Giro?). The next tier with Mas, Hindley, Carapaz I see weaker than Thomas tbh.Pogacar lost 10s on that final climb to a 38 year old Thomas.
