Not a bad pick, imo he is better at these uphill kicks than Gesink though in saying that Emillia is a bit longer than some of the walls in the classics or in the Vuelta so who knows how he goes.

He's never done well here though. This finish doesn't suit him.

Why do you say that? His finishes on Pena Carbarga, Valdepenas de Jaen & San Lorenzo de Escorial indicate he is good on these shorter, punchier climbs.

Yes. But the three times he's done the Giro dell'Emilia already suggest that he's not very good on this particular climb.

No, last year they were co-leaders, but Mollema was dropped long before the final lap. Gesink even had to control the gap to Fuglsang on his own.

OK, but considering Mollema's Vuelta performance he definitely improved on the short steep climbs

Note that they didn't send the actually good Australian rider they have on their books to Australia. He's over in China. It's just the workhorses.

Haussler? He's doing the Sun Tour too. Just like Bobridge and Meyer are doing Beijing, as was Wilson.

It seems like a far more natural way to end their seasons, rather than hanging around Europe for the last two weeks (in races which suit them not one bit). Haussler will be in Australia for October/November. Bobridge and Meyer will be there working on form for track and road races over the summer.

Lancaster is the only one doing the Sun Tour who isn't in the Beijing squad. So that's only one who could theoretically be racing in Italy today, for a whole 70km.

It seems like completely logical rider management to me, given that they had to field eight in China and one cannot be in two places at once.

That's absolutely true, but this race isn't really punchy, just bloody hard. That's why Gesink has won it twice, the harder the race the better for him.

Yes, it is easy to now say your post is a bait post after quite a few others picked your post up on its inaccuracies. Nice get out there, MV.

4 PT teams plus Skil Shimano are racing in Victoria.

Eeerrr, those who picked up on my post saw what my real point was and agreed with my reasoning.
So my "get out" as you call it, was really about you, cluelessly jumping in with both feet.(again)

Now, back to the race.

"Live" coverage is scheduled for Rai Sport Web stream 3.......whatever that is.

As for tv coverage, my sat box epg only shows that the next programme finishes at the correct time for Emilia to start.
All will soon be revealed.......

Any feeds?

it was supposed to be televised live on Rai Sport 2 15:30 CET (so in ~45 minutes) but it doesn't appear on their tv-guide at the moment.

but I think it's quite unlikely that there will be any feeds (except the geo restricted official stream on rai.it) anyway

it will be geo restricted, and highly unlikely there will be an unrestricted stream.

There will be internet highlights later though.

depending on you for the highlights, dims.

Like I said. Satbox epg now shows formula 1 and it will be the highlights at the time posted above.
Radio Corsa is Rai Sport's weekly cycling show, each Thursday and they gave all the times of their various race coverage.
That's what they said and that's how it is.:(

Dim: There's a second bite for a chance of a live stream.
Repeated at 22-30CET.
