You mean the race where Gesink dropped Morabito like a stone in the queen stage?

Anyway, Rujano makes a move, and Duarte wins the stage... good times in Ryoland.

Duarte
Machado
Scarponi

I'm surprised Scarponi lost to Duate in a sprint. Scarponi is generally quite quick.

GC
Scarponi
Machado +7s
Morabito +34s
Pozzovivo +35s

Surely this is the greatest victory in the history of greatness and victories. Duarte is a once-in-a-generation champion and must surely now be the favourite for every single race he enters for the rest of the year.

Back then it was the great climber Robert Gesink.

BTW, didn't Duarte lose his last sprint FTW? Against Basso, of all people?

Faster tempo, flatter climb. For some riders, they don't adapt well to such a climb.

Yesterday was more of a power climb (hence why Tommy V was even in the picture), today was a true climber's climb.

Quite close. Second win of the season after Pelucchi in Almeria.

Apart from the slight inconsistency and slightly suspect attack timing Duarte has been living up to the hype quite well.

I had a lot of grief from other forum members for not knowing the past of Philip Gilbert very well and I accepted the attacks for not doing the research. I think you have to do yours on Duarte.
