Carlos Betancur (or Betancourt) is in! Nice

he was sent home by acqua en sapone who were unhappy about him for all the wrong reasons. I'm sure he will do well here. in colombia he won a mountain itt 1 week ago against some other antioquian u23 talents like jaramillo.

Should be a a good week. I'm excited to see the Giro contenders stretch their legs on these hills. I also like seeing Ben King's name on there; The young Americans have lived up to all the hype this year (which was none, to be sure), but I'm very ready to welcome a new generation of American riders.
No hype? If Phinney wasn't hyped, I don't know who was.

But that kid Talansky, he's good. He should be hyped.

No, he isn't. Nobody here talks about TJVG winning everything in the future. When people talk about American prospects for the GTs, people say TJVG looks like their best hope (now together with Talansky), but that's all. You equate "talking about someone" to "hyping someone", which is fairly ironical coming from you.

So CN's preview fails to mention Androni whatsoever.

Or Colombia + Garzelli

Also, Sastre has a cross by his name on cyclingstartlists.com ?

Does anybody know why Monsalve didn't compete since february? He was supposed to be in Andronis Trentino and Giro d'Italia team. Now he is out of Trentino.

Have to agree with Hrotha. Sure, Phinney, but who else is really hyped?

Too bad there's no live video of this one.

Shack Attack is on the cards.

And even the race's own live update notice it:

"Kloden primo, Machado terzo, Popovych decimo: tutti e tre i leader della RadioShack nei primi dieci!!!"

Seriously, if Popo starts performing too I don't know what I'll do.

If he wants a job after this season he better start performing. But for a whole raft of Clinic reasons I don't think we will see it.

popovych doesn't have it mentally, nothing to do with clinic stuff. he was full grown physically as an u23 rider which is why he dominated so hard there. same thing for peter sagan who hasn't improved anything this year either. but his base is very strong mentality we will have to see.

He also got 12th, 3th and 5th at the Giro at young age. He was not racing u23 riders there. Or do you mean he reached his best level at a young age and then deteriorated, because of the physical toll this took on his body? Because I do notice a significant deterioration rather than a stagnation.

I mean he reached his physical peak at young age (23), perhaps even younger then that and after that only got more experiences which resulted in ebtter results until he lost motivation when he saw he didn;'t get better. many east european examples of this are karpets, petrov, ignatief
