Nice by Frank!:D He deserves the leaders jersey, he performed better than I would have expected. I would like to see how he would go on the hard climbs.
Cunego looks good too!
Even BMC riders and de maar are climbing better than Rujano:eek:

Does that mean that Marc de Maar will win the Giro now?

Peleton splitted on descent or on the ascent ? Kinda strange that only Rubiano stayed in front. I dont know what shape Rujano is but other Androni guys like Serpa usually are good enough to stay in first group in stages like this. Same with Szmyd, Pozzovivo and Di Luca

Androni got washed away on the descent along with Pozzovivo, Basso, Szymd and somewhat surprisingly Di Luca

I guess it was Atapuma. He came in group with Szmyd, Rujano and two other from Androni.

Still not sure why Cunego is not doing Fleche instead of this, by the way. Oh yeah, because he wants to do the Giro, I got that. But surely he should be focusing on the classics at this point of his career?

cunego keeps going back and forth with his goals he just can't decided. . .

to be honest tho this is probably the best cunego we have seen since 08, if not even 04

He said it was because he needs racing days to be seen at his best (for LBL) - hence a short tour as opposed to a 1 day race

Didn't Vino win Trentino and LBL in 2010?

yes he did. i think trentino is a good preparation for liege for some1 who is in very good shape that still lacking a bit of it, mostly if you are a GC guy and not a pure hilly classics guy

Yes, but Fleche didn't suit Vino as well as Cunego. I'm not saying he's sacrificing his chances to win LBL, I'm saying he's sacrificing Fleche.

Ryo is right about Cunego not being that explosive anymore, though. Even today I thought his sprint wasn't anything special, and that had it been anything but a narrow finish he could have lost.
