Hrotha- I think Cunego is targetting Liege. He mentioned in an interview that his best results in Liege have been achieved when he did Trentino instead of Fleche, as he prefers to race.

Well today Damiano crossed the line first as i told him today at the start in Mori , although the Astana rider was waving his arm because it looked as if Damiano had not ridden a straight line !

Snow was falling on the " palou , GPM as 165 went through and so i descended direct to the Arrivo and shivered hard as i tried to photo various racers from the back of the Podium area .

Are you for real? This is terrible, and the season is turning into a complete disaster for them.

If you can't see that, it is difficult to take you serious.

Atapuma was ok. Forero was in the group of the day, so kudos to him. But the rest? What's the use of putting up a PCT team full of climbers when they can't even show something here? When will they finally start to deliver something? I don't expect wins or even top 10 placings from them here, but c'mon, even NetApp, Idea, SpiderTech and Utensilnord placed more riders in the top 50 here then Coldeportes.

who cares about riders in top 50. atapuma is their leader here and he did well and tomorrow he could do top 5 for sure.

Frank reminds me of Thomas Frei (BMC) in 2010 in Trentino.

Frei 1985 born, Frank 1986, both Swiss, both BMC.

Let´s hope history won´t repeat.

OMG that is really bad.... they are supposed to be pure climbers right.
Don't be sarcastic.

I am not surprised at these results at all at this point. I am not sure what Ryo has told everyone but the only one with potential from Coldeportes in this race was Atapuma. IMO. We always have sucked at TTT. Today was very tricky because of the descent. So I take that as a good result for Atapuma. Besides this is the first year for these small Colombians in the European roads, speeds, climate, food, stage lengths. Even though they are good climbers there are many things that are new to this team. Besides there are not many long climbs at high altitude at this point of the schedule. Only one that I saw was in Tirreno and that was one of their first races for them.

So, all in all I think they are improving bit by bit. The problem is that they are running out of invitations.

In the past they have excel in Europe when the climate has been warmer, the climbs are longer and at high altitude, and not in one day races. So it is a pity that they were not in good shape in races that were invited that did not even fit their qualifications.

the problem is that they are suffering too much getting into shape. alreayd many injuries within the team because of this. corti has mad ea disastrous preperation and only a select few with much class and engine like atapuma and duarte are doign well despite a bad base

jezuz christ those guys suck so much i can't even watch.corti should bring reinforcements on august or whatever,it's embarassing by now.give them something to eat for christ sake.ok maybe atapuma did ok but i expect much more

and wow what a crrap day for all my favs....di luca at the front on the penultimate climb, even attacking and then kaput on the descent..prati di tivo all over again...then goes with pozzovivo, then probably cracks big time

51.DI LUCA Danilo (ITA) 1976 ASA ACQUA & SAPONE 4:03'43 4'13 :eek::(

the good news for acqua e sapone is that betancur is looking in the form of his life.and by the way,ryo was finally right on something:D,it seems that from the beginning he was the leader here because he went with gini to see the punta veleno climb.my god the kid was firing from all the cylindres today
why did he protest though?to me it seemed that maybe he thought the finishline was earlier and stopped sprinting?cunego was sprinting by the book and he deserved it no doubt.
francesco reda-damn,love the guy but i'm really afraid for him.tomorrow he can destroy the peloton for carlos.

about astana, they have a new thing probably vino implemented:bomb the descends before the final climbs.it works.

both basso(who said he did a sovietic regime in teide) and rolland impressed me today.they are fine for the grand tours.the magical team gadret too.

rujanito...he looked ok but i want to see the androids riding at the front not like that.tomorrow i hope he will shine.pozzovivo will attack fast because as always here he's in great form

tomorrow acqua e sapone, colnago and the androids to destroy the peloton.hopefully there are no more descents.

There's still the tiny descent of Punta Veleno. :D That rules out a bunch of potential winners :D

ya when i tuned in and heard basso had been dropped i thought "damn nibbles will have to ride the giro" but then i saw basso and rolland rolling across the line and they were breathing through their noses so i would say both look pretty good.

I'm still confident Nibbles will do the Giro anyway. Liguigas can't send just a dunno-how-good-I-am Basso. Not against all Lampre boys.

i think they will risk it, they must want to show something at the tour which is something they haven't done since 09!!!!

actually they showed something last year. And I'm not sure Nibali could do much better (maybe he can top 5). On the other hand, failing the Giro means failing the season for an Italian team.

basso was pretty invisible to be honest, cept for luz ardiden ofc. i think nibali can podium on this years tour, he seems to have improved his itt and his climbing has been pretty good this season probably the best it has ever been

He can but he needs some luck. We saw him doing very well in short itts, but he's always been good on that. I don't know how good he'll be in a 50+ kms tt.

but after the pyreneus most time we saw basso he was barely hanging to some group. 2010 giro basso would have beasted a stage like the galibier

and yes we have only seen short itt's so far thats why i said "seems" but iirc he said it himself that he had improved but to be honest we prolly won't know for sure until the dauphine or the tour itself. you can't disagree with his climbing tho.
