holding conatdors wheel on a climb. while the others lost more than a minute and couldn't hold his wheel  few days later he was at least equel of contador on grossglockner then. and these are rujano's own words. but of course you know better

I think everyone knows better. On Etna he had the fortune that Contador had to catch him first, Contador couldn't crack him, but still opened a gap for the win, would anyone question who the stronger rider was? If we know who the stronger rider was then there is no "on par"

Grossglockner rujano was stronger than Etna, but was still gifted a win by Contador. As for on par how did he do after that? Zoncolan? rode next to Contador did he?

Remembering in 2010 this Rujano said he was the 3rd best climber in the world, not could be, was. How was rujano's 2010? Pro cyclists are not always known for being honest with themselves. :p

You must be mad at Rujano, Ryo. Such a huge talent, and such a limited palmares. He's the South American Andy.

Looking at the likes of Basso and Scarponi I think Rujano might even be peaking too early.
Everyone will be peaking too early if you compare them to people who look like they're peaking for late June. Rujano is clearly not in top form yet.

It's not that bad, Rujano has actually won a stage race!

no he's like a fine wine. you only get to taste it maybe once or twice in a year. but all the sweeter it makes. besides he has won a lot in his career and alwasy rides to win. can't be compared to andy at all. I was more happy with his vuelta colombia win then when he finished 3rd in giro 2005.

So he's even more like Andy than you think.

Although I think we can safely say that Andy is a little more talented.

capecchi had really good legs and he was very impressive when brought the peloton back on ruyano' s wheel. great team work from him

basso his improving. he is better now than in 201o, when before the giro he was very weak at romandie

felline was a surprise again in the mountain .he was able to stay for a long time with the best. considering he is very fast he has a huge talent ( monster talent)

ruyano is training very seriously more than ever and he well be very stong in the giro
betancurt is really great talent

in appennino , androni proved they can work as a team. a strong team

felline is a big talent. only from 1990. he could become a great climber too. and correct. androni did great work in appennino for felline who finished it off. they are already giving away victories like serpa in langkawi and felline there to have them help rujano out in the giro. so he can win it

If Matt Rendell is right, he's soon to be the South American Pellizotti.;)

I dont think Fellines strongest point will be the big mountains, he is very punchy and I think he will develop further in a hill rider with a good sprint. He will also be able to stand his own in a mountain stage but dont see him compete for wins on the big mountains.

that's what I would say as well. same with ulisis. however they are still so young you can't really decide for sure. scarponi had the same thing as wlel when he was young. seemed more hilly guy

Let's hope not. But he sounded like he really knows something. :(

Rendell has a lot of contacts in South American cycling, but he's also not above a bit of rumour-mongering or repeating stuff he happened to hear.

I did, what was your take on it?

He did a lot more work than you give him credit for.

Contador would not have gifted him the stage if Rujano hadn't been working with him.

kreuziger as I said a million times overrated and he will be lucky to do top ten in giro

How is he overrated? I don't get it. Nobody speaks about him as a top favourite anywhere. In fact nobody speaks much about him at all. That given, he has some decent results this season showing good form. And yeah, Giro is the main goal now and I think podium is definitely possible.
