I think Rebellin can win in this field. He's in good shape

So bad that the field declined so rappidly the past years. This was (and still is) one of my favorite one day races of the year. With the finish on San Luca, this race has everything to be a absolutely classic and comparable to the likes of FW, Clasica and Strade.

A shame that now with it's current place on the calendar, it's not the race it used to be anymore.

Such a bad start list, this should be moved in the calendar. Maybe before the Giro something like that, right now it's shameful. No Belkin, no Garmin, no Saxo....
Hopefully Formolo, Vilella or Bongiorno takes this.
This is the kind of race that should be WT, not crap like Beijing. But the UCI is more concerned with random races like Utah, Colorado, Dubai or Oman. San Luca is such an iconic climb, this is a real classic, with real fans and a rich history.

Painful to watch this race decline.

Move it to a better spot on the calendar.

It has actually been in October for longer than I thought so it's not really the calendar slot

Or maybe it's Beijing that is/was the problem

1° Rebellin
2° Madrazo
3° Pellizotti
4° Zardini
5° Bongiorno
6° Formolo

Nice by Rebellin, too bad Emilia is becoming more and more "local" race.

Let's time travel back to 2009 for a minute.

In October 2014 one of these riders will retire. Two days later the other one will win Giro dell'Emilia...

Beijing and the fact that Lombardia is before not after Emilia is the primary problem imo.

While on my ride home I was thinking please not Rebellin, as I would rather have a young gun take it. I guess it worked out :p

rebellin is one of the most respected guys in the peloton and to many pros opinions, the nicest guy there. rasmussen said that he only heard him using an inapropriate word, once.
he shows what's normal, that he is the most talented hilly classic rider since argentin. very nice win by him, and what a shame that he's blacklisted for the big teams. i wish he would go world tour for another year, maybe in 2016 who knows... bravo davide!

Put Lombardia back after this asap plzkthx

edit: I think CCC is about all he's going to be allowed at this point. Only the most desperate of teams will take a flyer on him, the UCI doesn't want him around, and for CCC he's a useful ticket to plenty of .1 and .HC races in Italy and wins them enough money to keep them Pro Continental and getting the ticket to the Tour de Pologne and the occasional other smaller WT race, which is more or less everything they need.
