It's amazing how bad are UAE at tactics? Surely they can hire someone and start to implement decent tactics? Are they going to do the same in Lombardia? Wait for a Pog-Rogla-Remco sprint?
I think Pogacar fancies his chances in a sprint vs Roglic in Lombardia. It’s flat after a slight downhill isn’t it?

The strangest thing is that UAE have dominated the Italian ond day races using their numbers - For a start when Harper went off, then a Majka or Vine should have gone with him to make other teams work - Then A.Yates had to attack on the second last ascent to make a smaller selection. A big fail by UAE.
I think it is more of a rehearsal here, in the way they controlled this race, and Pog emptying his legs on the last climb. It is just good preparation in the end, even if he doesnt win here. If he had dropped everyone and wins, happy days. But someone being able to follow or can beat him in a sprint is always possible here. I dont think this climb/race really suits him. It is not hard enough and pretty predictable. It looked just like in previous years here.

Pog isn't at his best. Pog during his spring campaign had dropped everyone.

Simon Yates was way out of position, had to do a lot to come back and still got 3rd so looks like he could do something at Lombardia,

What do you mean by out of position? He was dropped when the attacks started. Then the others all went way above their limits and couldn't recover for the sprint where he then had something left.

Started the climb in last position after almost getting dropped on the descent, when the attacks started at 1k to go he was behind Ciccone who dropped, by the time he got round there was already a gap to Vlasov and he had to close it with Woods on the wheel.

That he crashed earlier in the race and still almost came round Pogacar at the end is promising.

There were nine riders in the group, there is a limit to how badly you can be positioned.

But yeah, I was surprised to see him in third after having been dropped.

Would like that a lot, simon always entertains but because he keeps to himself away from races , doesn't seem to have much of a reputation. Deserves a big win again but I don't think his record on 250km races any good.

S.Yates crashed halfway through the race and his team had to chase to rejoin the peleton.

Cille is just perfectly built for this finish. She needs to turn into the queen of San Luca the way van der Breggen was the queen of Huy.

Only one post from you during the race, which was quite brief by your standards.
I can only assume you must have been busy attending the Lotte Kopecky Fan Day in Gent ;)

I was celebrating my niece's birthday and didn't have time to watch it live.
The Slovenians did their things, with Roglič winning once again. A pretty decent result for young Piganzoli.

When he won all races and had the highest 20 minutes VAM of the season of all riders?
When he looked like he’d be dropped on every climb in TA if Pog or Vinge was there and outsmarted Evenepoel in Cataluyna? Roglic autumn > Roglic spring

He might have been able to beat Pog in FW due to him having a better uphill sprint on the steep gradients.

Even if it can help you on the Kemmelberg, I don't think this is the most important factor to win that race.

How can a guy called Riccardo Lucca finish last in this race?

Combining Riccardo Riccò and Danilo di Luca on the San Luca climb seems pretty perfect...

Maybe he has to join #inEmiliaRomagna in order to unlock his full potential in this race. Or perhaps he just couldn't handle the pressure.
