I also have a party tonight but will get back in time to watch the race. Won't drink at party as I may need to save myself for a big night if Cadel wins.:D

I have already entrusted my car keys to a friend in preparation for the big win by Tommy D.

Sinkewitz will attack at some point tonight. Could launch a few attacks. Him and Visconti will prove a force.

This race is especially meaningful to me this year since I rode many of those roads less than three weeks ago. One notable difference was I rode to Colma di Sormano the opposite way, from Nesso, the direction taken by the Giro Donne in this year's stage 7.

Tomorrow they ride the somewhat easier side. Nevertheless, the climb is substantial, and will shift the race in the favor of those better than Gilbert on sustained climbs. Given his impressive fitness in Geelong, along with the level of experience which seems to help on longer classics like this one, I've got to like Cadel Evans tomorrow.

I'll personally miss watching it, as I'll be at a local hillclimb. But this should be a very memorable Lombardia.

hm, that's strange, two days ago it was announced that Kruijswijk wouldn't be able to ride a bike for three weeks...I doubt that he's starting, even if Freire isn't

“My wife Chiara, my family and friends will be on the Ghisallo having a barbeque. If I’m not feeling the best, I’ll stop there and eat with them.”

Didn't you get an invitation for the real party?

so it's a group of 6 in front, Albasini (THR), Mirenda (ISD), Caccia (ISD), Gallopin (COF), Da Dalto (LAM) and Carlström (SKY), margin about 9 minutes

Gazetta reports (Google translated)

Downhill towards Porlock, who led the race, slipped to Calström who promptly got up and resumed the race.
