he IS a serious contender...

Giving up 5 minutes like that? Unlikely. I'd have him on the podium, as would many others, if it weren't for that stage. I don't know what he was thinking there. Maybe he'll make up the time anyway, but damn, how different things could have been.

It wasn't deliberate. He crashed/mechanical on the strade bianche

Don't know why Harmon is saying Contador is head and shoulders above everyone else. Didn't he see the other guy with him?

Granted he's way back on GC, but I can't see him not getting ont he podium now.

Has the "other" guy won the last five GT he has entered?

Alberto is man on a mission. This is his race. Said yesterday, Rujano wins stage only if AC lets him.

Regarding Machado, I made this post sometime ago.

Not bragging or anything. Some times you're right, sometimes you're wrong. But it always strikes me as odd, when I saw people hyping him for a top 10. He had never done three weeks of racing. He had never raced in this brutal climbs. What did you want? Right now he is on his way to a top 20/30, which was and is a realistic goal.

wtf were ag2r doing?

I'm starting to like Gadret more and more, precisely because he seems to be a bit of a d.ick.

He attacked the tediously cautious favourites group and it's always funny to see the big guns get a shoeing from an unfancied rider, particularly when they are riding so boringly.

And then he refused to work with his team mate, even though his team mate finished only a few yards behind! More of this sort of prickly, unreasonable behaviour!

John Gadret wouldn't give ANYBODY a gift!

It looked like AC could have dropped Rujano if he really wanted to do so.

Doesn't even give his own team leader a wheel.

Yeah I never saw the thing with Machado.

Yawn...

Of course, I wasn't expecting much from todays stage.

Unless CAS interceeds, it looks like the boring (GT) days of Indurain and Armstrong are on us again.

Too bad the crucial part of Contador's attack doesn't seem to have been captured on camera, would've been interesting how Rujano did that when Scarponi failed.
