youngest was right. You really are playing some sort of game where you try and see how many times you can put Gilberts name into races which he isnt even competing in.

Take your hero worship to the Tour of Belgium thread.

I'll start flaming you as well every time you mention someone who isn't part of the race then  (like the constant whining about Samu Sanchez)

Contador gives a little bit too much gifts away to be considered Chuck Norris. Which was my point if it wasn't clear.

I'm starting to think he might be moving in the "past it" category.

Kreuziger could move up here.....

My feelings exactly. At his age, it can happen at any moment. Of course we won't know until a few years later when we can look back in retrospect.

I take the full blame for Alex Rasmussens puncture

before the cobbles.

I mentioned him as a potential top 10 (page 8), and jinxed him.:(

Very disappointing time by Menchov. It actually got me thinking maybe when he knew Contador was going to ride the Giro he knew he wasn't going to win it and decided to go all out for the Vuelta, guess we'll know in september.

absoloutely no reason why he cant go for both. 3 months between really...
he just sucked here.

Honestly I doubt he can be "past it" he must have hit an incredibly hard wall to go from 3rd in last year's tour to this, especially at only 33. He might have declined a little but I think lack of top shape is a bigger factor then a loss of class.

Quite a brilliant move in that case for Rabo not to pay him.

My opinion of Breukink: +1

Rujano only about 20s down on Menchov. Should lose the place to Kreuziger, gain one from Rodriguez.

despite the vino's and radioshacks of the cycling scene, 33 is not young.

I think we've seen the best of menchov. Sure he may not have peaked as well as he did at say giro 09', but I am not sure he ever will be at that sort of level again.

I don't know AC faded so much as he's not taking risks in the corners. Not that it matters.

AC slower than Millar and Rasmussen at last split. Now the puncture for Alex makes it a real pity for him. What a debut in the Giro it could have been...

I fail to see how top50 is unreasonable for the little man.

considering how technical and explosive this course was, look at menchov itt. also rujano went deep yesterday. deeper than most riders. it's very good
