As much as I appreciate seeing sprinters do their thing, this is what GTs should be about in the first week :D

Someone wanna make a tweet sumarising everything in this stage?

GIANT break with some relevant GC guys (kreuziger most imporant).

Tinkoff and etixx didn't know what to do. Contador was prob shitting his pants that kreuziger would have 10min on him in GC. Astana were eating some jelly's and then they decided to go full *** and pull back every rider except for a young italian.

Uran lost 40 sec.

Great race.

Way! too many characters.
Yes. I checked!

Clarke is this close to cry at the interview XD

Clearly extremely emotional getting to wear pink. Allthough I do think his initial cheer was that he thought he won the stage. Allthough he was reallllly happy with pink so maybe it was just cheering for pink.

Today was fast. It did not really pay of for Aru and Astana.
No one expected that. Tomorrow will be interesting to see who has recovered,

Ryder will try something if he's legs are good

Who is best in a longish TT? Contador or Aru?

What tactical options does Kreuziger in third give team tinkoff?

Definitely Contador. He was capable of beating Cancellara back in 2009.

Contador was until not that long ago one of the best tters in the world. He was the bookies 2nd favourite to win the world's time trial in valkenberg (though failed). He has podiumed like 20-30 tts in his career including at least half a dozen in gts, and won the long tt in the 09 tdf.

Edit, and some may argue he deserves to have an olympic medal from the time trial.

Contador will crush Aru

So contador cn basically ride the wheel of Aru and win the giro

Probably won't be as easy as that !. Porte is the opposition here.

The monster TT is definitely one of the key stages. It will be between Contador and the little man in the big RV but I think Aru will not loose so much time as some people predict here.

Great stage, fantastic Formolo. I still can't stop laughing after Visconti showed Clarke the man who actually won.

Yes fantastic day all around, even Clarke's salute became legit!

I was really looking forward to Pozzo crushing the ITT. :(

Porte looked so effortless, GC favourite for me now.
He did look very smooth and easy. Probably getting a good nights sleep in his mobile marginal motor home

:) I'd jump on the bandwagon but...

overrated stage. I guess all it takes is one to scream epic for the label to stick.
