Contador attacked, create a gap. Porte attacked .. no gap. Aru attacked.. no gap. Should be interesting Giro. The 3 big GC guy looked really strong. And it looks like Porte MotoHome marginal gain works for him :D

Of course neither Porte nor Aru created a gap - Contador's attack took everyone by surprise (relatively speaking) and Aru and Porte were in, roughly, P4 and P7, but after that every attack was well marked by the rider sitting behind the attacker.

Climb too easy. Contador almost cracked Aru, but not steep enough. Unfortunately The Devil looks good.
Porte always looks good though I think, even when he's about to crack. Like Nibali and Quintana.

Nibali doesn't always look good though.

I actually think Nibali always looks like he's cracking.

His team is not, but the Belgian press and the Belgian public in general is way way way too critical. JVDB is their best GC contender from the last 15 years.

Did Contador just say that he didn't feel too good so he decided to attack?!

Yep, that's what he said…! I dunno, maybe a lost in translation thing. I think he's got an edge to find, but I Aru looked like he was struggling to me. Not sure how much Porte had left in him, to be honest. Didn't have much of a dig, really.

Indeed he said he didn't feel good but sometimes it's like that before. So at times he feels better after he attacks?

Well to me he looked like he was only firing on 5 of 8 cylinders, so there is more to come :).

BTW Aru cut him off on that last bend......

No it wasn't because Contador didn't attack again

He's got a poker face. Like Nairito. Sure his body sometimes tells another story.

Porte looked quite easy when closing the gap to Contador, but on the other hand he would probably have tried harder to gain some seconds if he was feeling better than the others.

Hard to draw any conclusions from today other than that they are really close to each other currently.

How many climbers that are absent from fighting for pink are stronger than the fourth strongest man in Giro?

The Gun, Lil' Richie and Aru are levels above the rest.

Who of the riders that are not in the Giro do you think could have followed the three leaders?

Froome and Quintana, yes. But I'm not sure Nibali could.

Yes! Polanc, what a win! Fantastic ride. To think he wasn't even supposed to do the Giro. Wow I'm so happy for him and I expect even greater things from him in the future.

Aru good today, Porte good today, Contador good today... hill not so good today...long, but not too steep.

First HC and you can just ferme le porte on Porte... Aru and Conti to duke it out.

Porte hesitates as if he's calculating the pain effort of the higher grades.

Conti just explodes and leaves shrapnel. Aru's smart; he just gets out of the way and follows.
