Kruijswijk looks fine, if he did actually do his rib in I don't think it can be that bad

(although you can still ride pretty well even with your ribs broken eg Visconti)

He said his foot is more a problem than his ribs.

Merckx beat Baronchelli by 12 seconds in 1974
Hesjedal beat Rodriguez by 16 seconds in 2012

Interesting list with margins for all years below. Smallest was Magni's 1948 win over Cecchi, where he won by 11 seconds. Hesjedal won with a gap of 16 seconds in 2012, so that's the closest race in recent times. Let's see if it will be as close today.

Nibali isn't feeling good enough/doesn't have the confidence in himself today to push on Bonette IMO. Either that or Astana don't have the strength today, and Scarponi is finally tired. Either way, he'll attack in the final 30km, he has to.
