Bonnette and Lombarde are so hard, specially at the back end of a GT. If they are stronger than Chaves they'll pull back the time anyway.

You don't get it, do you? It's strictly against the rules to receive mechanical help from other teams, and Porte and his team should have known that! Helping riders from other teams in terms of riding for them, well that's allowed of course. That's why it's important to have friends in the peloton, and maybe sometimes to gift a stage like Contador and many champions of the past often did.
