in pure watts, it still looks good on a flat course.

If the watt output is similar tomorrow there is no hope for Nibali or Quintana.

What's the weather forecast for tomorrow? Surprised nobody has talked about this. If there is wind or rain or both, it could totally turn the final rankings upside down.

Hot and dry. No rain, no wind.

Pinot jour de sans confirmed

Anyone in the top 5 could win but of course Dumo is the favorite. Everyone else needs him to have a bad day.

Top 5 could easily finish the Giro within 30-40 seconds of each other. That's just insane.
More likely, Tom wins comfortably by 30 seconds to a minute and 2-5 finish within 30 seconds of each other.

if I were bookie, the GC rank would be:

1. Dumoulin
2. Nibali
3. Quintana
4. Zakarin
5. Pinot

However,
- Dumoulin seems to be halfway cooked and more important (as everyone else is half cooked as well) doesn't seem to be the most cold blooded out there ....
- Pinot seems to have developed a huge lot since last year overall ....

This has been a weird GT for me. Normally I'm heavily cheering for a one or two guys or at least rooting against a rider or two but none of the 12-15 pre race favorites were among my favorite riders nor were they among riders I really don't like. There are a couple guys I like a bit less than others but I don't have really strong feelings one way or another about any of them. It's made for interesting viewing.

I'm in the anyone but Nairo camp. I would prefer to see Dumoulin or Pinot win if I had to choose. This Giro has made me a big time fan of Dumoulin. He's such a fighter.

Time for captain obvious: tomorrow we'll have the smaller time gap between the podium contenders of the last years.

Having said that, without Dumoulin, we could be about to witness the third Giro of Nibali's career.

At this point in the race, if I had to pick among the top 5, I guess I'd go for Dumo or Nairo. Dumo because he's grown on me and I like how candid he is and Nairo because I think he and Movistar have been criticized unfairly by a bunch of people during this Giro. A Nibali win would even be fun since people would go crazy. Mostly, I just want it to be close and come down to the wire. I really hope it's not decided at the halfway point.

Dumoulin to win Il Giro: I can't see another outcome unless we travel to Fantasy-land.

Nibali historically is a beter TT specialist than Tibopino.

Tibopino's stage 10 was terrible: at his true level, and he's strong right now, I'm not so sure that he can take 44" on Quintana.

Zakarin may beat Tibopino, but not by enough of amarging to overtake him in the GC.

Can Quintana hang on and lose 50 seconds or less? I don't think so. And although I usually like Nairito, I didn't like him and his team in this Giro. Maybe it's unfair and he just wasn't in great form...still, he was the big favorite.

My head says Dumoulin- Nibali-Quintana-Pinot-Zakarin. My heart wishes something different, but it's Fantasy-land I'm afraid.

Wonder if Tibopino will suffer under this immense pressure. Hes not proven to be a cool cucumber.

I doubt it. Most of the pressure is on the other three contenders. And he's just taken one of the biggest wins of his career after a few days in a row proving that he's at least as strong right now as two of the "Big 4". I think he will be feeling pretty damn good about himself.

Honestly, I don't believe so. He has a great Giro, he won a stage. Whatever else is gravy. He knows that he can't match Dumoulin: his odds of winning are slim to none. But of all the statement that I made above, gaining 44 seconds on Quintana, well, that's possible. Worth the shot.
