You gotta wonder if Quintana was wearing a proper TT skinsuit for both TTs instead of the leader's version, would he have held on for victory

why didn't they make a pink skinsuit couple months ago. Surely they could have foreseen this?

The end of what was for me a beautiful Giro, though Vincenzo missed the win by a handful of seconds, Dumoulin is a worthy winner. He was the best.

Big Mouth Tom already celebrating before Quintana is mathematically out. So cocky

Calm your hate

He wasn't celebrating early, the graphics showing the countdown was wrong ...

Even then the time was 1min left with 1km to go... you cant do that so you celebrate simple SeriousSam got issues

Well done the Dutch!

I'm getting a bit emotional myself seeing Jos Van Emden in tears.

Brilliant final week of this Giro and a very worthy winner.

Chapeau Tom D!

Nibali was excruciatingly close to defending his 2016 victory, a little more in the mountains and this could have been different, I suppose a little more from Quintana would be the same.

Pacing himself better when he blew up could've done it, but then again, you can point at poopgate for Tom, Quintana's ill fated attack where he ended up dropped etc.

Quite close in the end.

Exactly.

On the other hand, maybe Quintana could have done a little different in his training to get in better shape. We know he can climb better than he showed here at this Giro.

Yeah obviously he should have contained his emotions after realising he won the giro because mathematically Quintana could have put a jet pack on the back of his bike....

Imagine if Dumoulin had been alone on the flat after the last climb yesterday. This would have been incredibly thrilling. Still a great finale for this giro.

I wasn't cheering for him, but well done, he was the strongest. Nibali probably doesn't care if he finished 3rd or 2nd.
That was a monster performance by Quinziato in the last stage of his last Giro, well done!

Well deserved win for Tom Dumoulin. I expected better from Tibopino and Zak. Still, great Giro for both. Chapeau Tom, Nairito, and Vicenzo!

Well no way you could cover that last km in 1min just because of so many turns but also yea the timer was wrong.

Yeah was very close. And I reckon everyone in the top 3 lost some serious time. Quintana could also point to his crash while Dumoulin can point to losing Kelderman. In the end I think you can't really take anything away from the victory by Dumoulin.

Absolutely not, Quintana would have won that way and that wouldn't have been right!

Oh please, that was barely a crash. He'd have been more hurt had he been tackled in a rugby match

The tiniest crash can have it's effect on your recovery. If it took anything out of him it's hardly a stretch it might have cost him a few seconds here and there.
