That was pretty stupid by Van Poppel. He was in the perfect position on Viviani's wheel, but instead of waiting for Viviani to open his sprint, he went around Viviani early and let Viviani draft off of him before sprinting.

That's the 2nd time Bennets looked faster but had to start from too far back. Where's the leadout?

He is nowhere near having Viviani's speed, so that would not work. Just look how he couldn't even gap Sabatini when he started sprinting. He did the right thing, I believe.

Just saw a replay of the sprint - from above - what the heck was Viviani doing with his fingers? Rather weird way to indicate four wins?
