I think having broadcast at the same time would be possible, but the interest would obviously be very limited. Only some hardcore fans will watch a stream of an early part of the women's race while the men's one is in its decisive phase.

The way it is now is not ideal, but I think ASO was fairly open about it being for financial reasons. They are a private company afterall, so eventhough they are the richest of all, it's somewhat understandable that they need to limit losses. And there's basically no doubt that all women's races come with loads of those.

It wouldn't be a problem if they could figure out a way to actually give us more coverage than around 90 minutes.
Maybe even broadcast both races at the same time - yes, I know this would require a lot of cameras - when something happens in the men's race; show that, when something happens in the women's race; show that, utilise split-screens when necessary.
To keep it less confusing, they could use colour-coding like they've done for the last few years when showing the U23 and Junior (men's) races together on YouTube.
BTW, are they still doing that? Or will that be one more thing lost by the decision to move the women's race to Sunday?
Lol, absolutely not!

Sure, would be nice with a seperate stream. No harm there at all, but I'd imagine that would be quite challenging in terms of having enough motos and stuff like that? I don't know. I just wonder how many people would actually use a seperate stream considering the men's race is underway at that point.

Well, they're already having the YouTube stream for the U23 and Junior races. The least they could do is switch that over the the Women's race once the U23s are done...
And why would you not be watching both races?

Oh they have, well then they should absolutely have it for the women's elite race as well.

I like watching one bike race at a time.. especially a race like Roubaix. Can't take your eyes of the screen in that one.

Tbh I thknk the idea of showing both races at the same time isn't so horrible. Surely the idea would still be to have one finish like 1.5-2 hours later so the difference would mostly be that we are given updates from the womens race once in a while and only if the mens race is already decided they would start showing more of the women. Maybe having two races going on at the same time seems weird to some but to me this doesnt feel so different to having a breakaway battle and a gc battle happening simultaneously. Also I bet a lot more people would stick around for the womens race if they are already invested in it after watching the mens race.

The big problem I see with it is the logistics of needing additional camera motos etc. but solely from a fans perspective I quite like the idea.

ASO are in a position right now where they could probably broadcast more of the women's race, but then that would lower the production quality which would also lead to complaints. But I do look forward to next year's Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Danoise Rousse which I assume you'll be securing the funds for.

Wtf? Seriously? It sounds completely awful to me. Especially a race like Roubaix when so much happens. And also because I would only watch one of the races normally, so it would do nothing but annoy me when they switched over.

They're not exactly making it easier for themselves having both main races on the same day, requiring more TV equipment.

I think it just wouldnt change the broadcast of the mens race much. I just dont think it hurts much if during a stagnant moment of the mens race they quickly show us some images of the womens race and go like "oh yeah the break has formed btw". And if MvdP is doing the last 50 km solo 2 minutes in front of the rest I really dont mind some footage of the womens race instead.

I will agree though that of all the races in the world PR is the worst suited for this since something crucial can happen any second. I still think it would work decently though.

if the female peloton had their own races and their own organisers and without any crosssubsidy , they could have their races whenever and however they please

You know... somehow I don't think ASO would allow another organiser to have their own Paris-Roubaix, and the women - understandably - also want to be able to ride.
Besides, you'd think ASO would be proud of the fact that they're hosting two major races - and two youth category races - so why are they acting like they're only hosting one major race, while treating the women's race like it's secondary?
It's rather hard to feel sorry for them for the fact that there's an overlap - with all the organisational challenges that's gonna bring - when they brought that upon themselves.

A new polish star is born, so far anonymous:
“While securing the "Ślężański Mnich 2026" cycling race in Sobótka, police officers arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of stealing a bicycle and a navigation system worth over 28,000 PLN. In an attempt to evade arrest, the perpetrator entered the race course and briefly overtook the peloton.

Upon seeing the officers, the man ignored their commands and began to flee. He entered the race course, where he continued his escape attempt among the competitors.

At one point, he even overtook the peloton. According to officers, his dynamic riding briefly placed him at the forefront of the race, almost "standing on the podium" among the riders.”

For the first time since 2013, the Tour of Slovenia will include the Vrsic pass this year:

Oddly enough, unlike in the past, the stage won't finish at the top though, but only after the rather steep and partly cobbled descent towards Kranjska Gora

Descending the north side of Vrsic is borderline unhinged, would have preferred a descent finish off Wurzenpass for that reason (the race goes into Italy on this stage and has been into Carinthia semi-recently so it's not irrealistic). I'm also a bit worried that Hansen and cronies will only kick a fuss at the last second, when it's too late to go for the last resort option of running the loop over Vrsic and Predil in the opposite direction.

I wonder why they don't just go up from Kransjka Gora, that side is harder and has the added fun of the cobbles.

Anyway, I'm planning to visit and ride up it this summer, so I'll watch for any tips and tricks.
