May be next time, they can give the jersey to someone during stage 1, then neutralize the rest of the race and let guys to race :).

Are GC guys obliged to finish the stage, when it is neutralized? What is the reason to finish the stage?

Official site of the race
This is the final circuit stage at the heart of the Capital. The riders will race 10 loops of an 11.5 km circuit on the streets of Rome (wide, with some traffic dividers). Short climbs and descents are interspersed with long straight sections, connected by sometimes-tricky bends. The road surface is mostly tarmac, with some stretches over road pavers (“sanpietrini”).

This surface has been known about for months. The weather is dry. If anyone thought this was not raceable, they should have said so months ago.

Every time Froome is about to win a GT the final stage gets neutralized, what the ***? It's not even raining!

Giro has lost a lot of its prestige this year for me, from the terrible start in Israel, to paying Froome € 2 million to start, not to mention the ridiculously long transfers after every stage and now this crap.

Congrats, you now rank below the Tour of Belgium.

Is that in the Grand Tour Nibali won? Pretty sure Trentin won the points jersey as well.

Who would have guessed that the circuit is proving to be clearly raceable ? - at least for the bike racers anyway

You can tell the Giro is desperate for a "big" name on their palmares.

Not surprised, it is the least prestigious GT after all (behind Tour, Vuelta and California), they need to over-compensate (just like the start in Israel).

was it? how so? tell how thats true?

Riders going all out and spoiling Sky's victory parade kind of shows their standing within the peloton. On the other hand it is clearly understandable that riders and teams want to race to get exposure and not just soft pedal within an anonymous mass.

So Contador spent 3 seasons targeting this joke of a race?

He wasn't allowed to ride the Tour in 2008 and he only rode the Giro in 2011 because of his unresolved doping case.

Froome's whole Giro d'Italia victory already looked like worthless scripted reality in his favor!

That he's actually that much of a moron to openly expose himself with today's action, while his fans truly believe he's bigger than Pantani & Armstrong since Friday even surprises me!

Ridiculous clown! :D

I'm not even mad anymore. I laugh about him.
