Froome much better than I expected. Still think he was a bit lucky that Yates didn't already go when he was distanced. In that case the pace wouldn't have dropped again, but anyway, I thought he would be on Dennis' level after the last few stages.
Lopez was massively disappointing, Dumoulin pretty much where I expected him and Yates...I'm speechless. That was absolutely incredible. Did he just get the favorite for the giro? Also super happy that Chaves got the stage win.

Ominous performance from Froome today. I get the feeling were going to see a third weak super peak where he smashes the TT and the mountains.

That is moronic. Yates in front, stronger rider, and better ride today, and they just threw away bonus seconds

Team spirit is worth a few seconds.

Yates has already cost himself results working for Chaves in previous grand tours - struggling to recall Chaves ever being anything other than the chosen one - team spirit should be built in the other direction, especially when Yates needs to build a gap on the TTers

Certainly not unreasonable.

It's weird but I think this performance suddenly makes Adam a real contender for the Tour de France :D

After the last 2 days I thought the Giro would end up being Dumoulin vs Yates.

Now I think it might be the Yates exhibition.

Or maybe Chaves is their leader overall.

I expect he is - doesn't make it any less daft when he's been out ridden all week (and all season) by Yates

Like Cobo and Piepoli on Hautacam for Saunier Duval.

If Yates already gains 20s on a tempo climb, it's going to be not fun on Zoncolan
edit: Carapaz 7th, legend.

Seems to be a media blackout on his recovery, would be nice to know he's still alive somewhere

How was Chaves out-ridden by Yates today? He won from a 100km+ breakaway. And only him being up the road allowed Yates to ride the way he did.
