Froome to DNF before Zoncolan.
I'm not totally sure that he's going to be at the start line on tuesday

Imo, he should continue now that he committed to race this Giro. He has had some bad luck with crashes and form does not seem to be there... but unless he is sick or injured to the point he cant continue, stay in the race. He can drop off more in the GC to the point he is not a threat and then go stage-hunting in the last week. Maybe even going for the KOM jersey.

If he drops out and then gets banned before the tour, good riddance

Yates is looking really good, but honestly we have no idea how good he'll be in week 3.

Remember in the TDF he was 2' 02" behind after 16 stages, he ended up 6' 14" behind Froome.

He's a very young rider so it's very possible he's developed into a rider that can go the full 3 weeks, but it also seems like he might be peaking right now.

Race is shaping up nicely, very competitive, great course, and the TT short enough to mean that the TT guys don't have a huge advantage. Personally I'd like to see more TT k's but it's good for the suspense this way.

This awful coverage is a useful reminder that the Giro is not considered as the greatest stage race in road cycling.
What has happened?
I watched both RAI and Tiz at the same time and there was no problem at all.

Well, riders make up illnesses al the time to get out of races. But I can't see Froome inventing an illness to explain his performance.

Froome probably claims sickness and abandons in the coming days.

Then, all his fans build up the legend how he was only ill and not in bloody awful shape during the Giro d'Italia!
Not me. No shape.

Nice finale.
I would not mind any of the top-5 as the winner! This could be a fun Giro. Yates looks mighty strong but I'm expecting the others to get stronger compared to him.

Yeah the race looks like it will be very exciting. I would say the entire top 5, Yates, Chaves, Dumoulin, Pinot and Pozzovivo are very much still in it. And I'm thinking at least 3 of them will probably be in in after the ITT. Those final 3 mountain stages before Rome should be very exciting.

Yates and Chavez should've done more to distance Dumoulin today. Normally, he should get better towards the end.

so the feed dropped in the last km for everyone? i thought it was just my stream.
Tiz didn't drop.
Lol. The pirate channel has the quality over the pay-for-view...

Yeah I was using RAI2 and it was fine. I prefer to watch the Giro in Italian, the Spring Classics in Flemish, etc. I don't speak any of those languages, but it just adds to the experience IMO :)

Both RAI and ES Italia worked perfectly. I'm not sure it's RAI's fault if your coverage stopped.

Yates looks much better than anyone else at the moment, but Mitchelton-Scott needs to keep both of its guys up there in GC. You never know what can happen in the third week.

I think all cycling fans should be very grateful to the Yates brothers for choosing not to take the Sky money. This race would have been far less exciting had they been in the Froome train. Might even have ended up in a procession today.
