They don't want to finish all the way to the top because there is no way to get down until everybody has arrived. Logistically it's a nightmare.Red Rick said:Seriously if you make Pinerolo such a train wreck you might as well commit and finish all the way on the top of Colle Nivolet, cause that climb desperately needs that bit to be good.
2012 probably.Valv.Piti said:Overall I think its a pretty decent route. Ponte di Legno is the hardest stage since...?
If everything is an excuse to make routes lame nowadays, then I'm all for disregarding every excuse.Eshnar said:They don't want to finish all the way to the top because there is no way to get down until everybody has arrived. Agree, we have 2 extremely well designed and hard mountain stages, one pretty short, the other one a monster length of 226 km and 5700 elevation. Also 3 hilly time trials are bit overkill, I also kinda like that different aspect of the race.barmaher said:I really don't like the first week, but the negativity on here about EVERY FREAKING GT ROUTE is really starting to bother me. Sure, stage 19 is not ideal, but in the context of the last 10 stages, and in the context of recent GT routes, let's settle down a little bit.
I'll just start giving people a pass when everyone is doing a shitty job.barmaher said:I really don't like the first week, but the negativity on here about EVERY FREAKING GT ROUTE is really starting to bother me. Some other aspects are pretty meh, I think they could have done better with Cuneo-Pinerolo and Anterelva. But there always those kinds of minor letdowns. Lets focus on the positives, Nivolet is also a pretty nice and tough stage, same with the stage to Aune which could be a bloodbath.
Your pessimism reaches new levels if you really think there won't be attacks on Mortirolo.Red Rick said:The entire 3rd week hangs on Passo Manghen to be a viable place to attack and I'm really, really unsure if it's possible.
Dont think that's what he meant tho.Sestriere said:Your pessimism reaches new levels if you really think there won't be attacks on Mortirolo.Red Rick said:The entire 3rd week hangs on Passo Manghen to be a viable place to attack and I'm really, really unsure if it's possible.
Mortirolo is in week three and I think it will be a great stage. I think this is adressing Red Rick's "concern" that the 3rd week might be bad unless someone attacks on Manghen. If this isn't the point feel free to help me out.Valv.Piti said:Dont think that's what he meant tho.Sestriere said:Your pessimism reaches new levels if you really think there won't be attacks on Mortirolo.Red Rick said:The entire 3rd week hangs on Passo Manghen to be a viable place to attack and I'm really, really unsure if it's possible.
With an additional, unclassified hill before Colle San Carlo, no? I haven't seen any maps, just the profiles, but I guess they'll leave the valley road at Villaret, as the main road is basically flat until Morgex. yes, they do a small deviation before S.Carlo, looks to be little over 1 km at 10+%.18-Valve. (pithy) said:With an additional, unclassified climb before Colle San Carlo, no?
