I think the common "logic" is

"I would rather have R0 of 1 while living normally than an R0 of 1 in lockdown. O wait can't have the former. Surprisedpikachuface."
Please everyone stop. Every thread on every site descends into this please save it for the covid thread and let the rest of us talk about the race

This is on a danish site, they even made the odds after it was announced that Matthews is pulled from the race. Someone is not doing their job.
I honestly wonder if it isn't a scam on the bookies behalf in that they cancel the winning bets and don't refund the bets on Matthews or some shady ***

Interesting intelligent stage design.
Ofcourse on the long run a morning breakaway could take it.
It could be a sprint as well with the 5K flat finish and last 3.5K along the lido next to the Adriatics.
But taking a closer look at the last 20K with twists and the two-way uphill approach to Tortoreto, front and behind, it could very well go to a puncheur with stamina.
And the last uphill Via Pagliarette seems like very tiny road with bad surface.
But more the fact that the two last climbs are so close to each other. That's gonna hurt the sprinters.
I'll definately be watching the closing 25K, especially if a break is within reach.

Responsible stuff from Mitchelton and JV.... Must be gutting for the riders who aren't positive but it's in the interests of the rest of the Giro certainly
Helps that they didn't have that much to gain anymore of course (main riders were out), and more to lose (more sick staff and riders, negative publicity, potential long term health problems).

Shame for Klerenhanger, he's really experiencing the Covid season (not all that 'cause of the virus, to be clear).
The Mitchelton guys could've also featured in the coming stages, but the situation there's somewhat different.

Tour's bubble beats the Giro bubble.
